As a member of the HR Total Rewards team, the Manager, Global Mobility will drive global mobility strategies that are in line with wider company objectives. Will analyze, evaluate and recommend programs, policies and governance to better support the Ingredion Global Mobility program. This is a critical role to support the domestic and international growth of Ingredion. This role will oversee and manage the movement of employees and their families both within countries and across international borders, whether for temporary assignments or more permanent ex pat moves. This role supports relocation and international assignment needs, ensuring smooth transition and integration for our global workforce throughout the mobility process. The Manager, Global Mobility is responsible for program and policy development, oversight, implementation, compliance, and reporting.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders, HR business partners (HRBPs) and other cross functional partners to understand the needs of the business from a talent strategy perspective and enable business outcomes while influencing decisions aligned with global mobility policies and practices.

  • Drive the Global Mobility strategy and roadmap to ensure our international assignment, immigration, relocation and tax policies and practices are aligned with the business and talent strategy as well as desired employee experience

  • Oversee the design, administration, and communication of mobility programs globally, including vendor strategy and policies and practices

  • Manage and collaborate with our external tax, legal and relocation vendors, ensuring appropriate level of service is provided to employees and in compliance with INGR policies.

  • Advise on global mobility-related activities such as short and long-term assignments, domestic or international relocations at all levels, including executives, as well as tax implications.

  • Provide thought leadership for global mobility by staying abreast of industry standard processes and benchmarks; recommend and implement policy changes as necessary.

  • Conduct regular benchmarking of our programs and practices to evaluate practices and alignment with our strategy

  • Enhance communication and effectiveness of our global mobility programs.

  • Build on technology architecture to support global mobility program delivery, including integration with People systems and external partners.

  • Partner with our internal and external legal, tax and Payroll teams to ensure our programs are compliant while monitoring legal and regulatory environment to proactively prepare for changing landscape.

  • Stay informed about international employment laws and regulations, ensuring full compliance in all regions.

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks associated with global mobility, such as tax and immigration issues, safety concerns or geopolitical instability.

  • Create and manage budgets for global mobility programs, including comprehensive and detailed cost projections and cost control to ensure cost-effective assignments.

  • Partner with 3rd party provider for COLA and housing allowances. Set standards for determination of amounts.

  • Review tools and systems to ensure processes are simple and efficient.

  • Ensure and follow process documentation to optimize mobility support from the shared services center.

  • Ensure smooth process with Immigration vendor and proper work VISA's are obtained .

  • Ensure tax compliance and correct entities can employ in each country.

  • Oversees tax services via tax service provider ensuring tax notices, tax equalization, and tax returns are managed in a timely manner. Partners with third party tax provider to develop on boarding and off boarding policies and processes. Partners with payroll to ensure all tax related matters are captured appropriately in payroll systems.

  • Supports the development of templates and tools for implementation and improvement of processes

Qualified candidates will have:

  • 4-7 years of global mobility experience with a good understanding of global mobility policies, including expat taxation, balance sheets, immigration, assignment services and compensation and benefits. Financial management is also a vital skill alongside an understanding of payroll, cost projection and assignee transfer processes.

  • Expertise leading projects with ability to shift between high-level design, consulting, and analytical/operational work.

  • Expertise with analytics, Excel, PowerPoint, global People Systems, and leveraging technology to drive efficiencies and provide recommendations based on analysis.

  • Proven thought partnership, collaboration, and influencing skills to establish/maintain excellent working relationships with HRBPs, business leaders, and multiple cross functional partners.

  • Proactive and creative thinker who can provide strategic thought leadership and prioritization, think analytically, and solve complex issues and challenges in a way that balances the needs of the business and employees while maintaining compliance.

  • Strong vendor management skills.

  • Strong communicator, including ability to effectively communication verbally and in writing to audiences at all levels in the organization.

  • High level of personal integrity and comfortable operating with ambiguity - capable of balancing good governance with high quality client service.

  • The candidate must be familiar with market best practices and keeps abreast of the latest developments in the field at a regional/national and global level.

  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently.

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
