The Manager, Global Brand Marketing partners closely with the Global Brand Marketing Director and the International Operating Companies (OpCos) to develop the world-wide product release and marketing strategy for all Universal Pictures New Release titles, ensuring each title's profit is maximized.
In addition, the Manager plans and manages the execution of the North America product and marketing campaigns, in collaboration with the Global Marketing Teams, to achieve performance objectives across both Digital and Physical platforms.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Product and Campaign Marketing
Support the Director in the development of the Global Marketing Guidelines and distribute to all OpCos.
Prior to theatrical release, analyze available consumer insights to be included in the Global Marketing Guidelines that are distributed to all OpCos. Guidelines include: theatrical overview, HE product details, positioning, consumer communication, and target audience.
Review theatrical performance (DBO, Exit Polls, Reviews, and Social Conversation) to refine and finalize the positioning and release strategy. Disseminate the North America strategic direction to the Marketing teams (creative, publicity, digital marketing, customer marketing, promotions, digital distribution marketing) as well as the OpCos if required.
Provide input to Global Research to brief agencies for Purchase Intent, Media Planning, and TV Spot testing.
Guide the development of Global Media assets including: reviewing select creative elements, creating the strategic media briefs, and developing the US and Canadian Media Rotation Grids.
Work with the Digital Marketing team to manage North America digital marketing campaigns including remarketing plans, UPHE product web pages, digital promotions and social media posts for designated releases.
Determine Global Trailering recommendation gaining alignment across brand teams.
Work with the OpCos to collect and analyze key post-HE release insights (what worked/didn't work) to present "Review and Learn findings" to guide future release strategies.
Review "out of scope" requests to the appropriate Global Brand team member to determine next steps.
Recommend North American Release date and windowing guidelines for each title; coordinate with the OpCos and HQ to address any exceptions.
Assess risks and opportunities including competitive landscape, theatrical and Home Entertainment comps, historical franchise performance, seasonality, and regression to establish North America Physical and Digital release date rationale.
Determine Bonus Content split by SKU.
Continuously support and share best practices globally.
Retail Strategy and Customer Marketing
Maintain expertise and Industry knowledge of the retail landscape.
Align with North America Customer Marketing and Digital Distribution on retailer and digital partner requests for content, exclusive products, offers, and custom merchandising.
Collaborate with North America Customer Marketing on the corrugate product display strategy. Work with OpCos to determine the viability of a central run of large scale merchandising elements.
Cross Divisional Collaboration
Support the Director in the financial management of the New Release product releases by determining financial assumptions and comps for North America.
Communicate approved budgets to Marketing Teams, and closely manage the North America P&L and global budget spends.
BA/BS Required MBA desired
Minimum 3-5 years of consumer marketing experience with a demonstrated ability to proactively lead initiatives to make a positive difference at a consumer-centric organization.
