This position is responsible for the preparation of the financial statements and a variety of supplemental reports at both the company and departmental levels. The General Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining the company's accounting systems, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and all general ledger functions.
This position is also responsible for general ledger account reconciliations, month end journal entries, bank reconciliations, payroll review, state sales tax, 401K filings and review, year-end audits and regulatory compliance with GAAP, federal and state agencies. This is a supervisory position.
A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required and an MBA is preferred. Multiple years of experience in the manufacturing industry are important, with experience in a foundry preferred.
Supervisory experience in accounting is also strongly preferred. ERP systems experience is valued and excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications, are necessary. This position requires a keen sense of details in order to analyze, quantify, interpret, and communicate results. Excellent communication skills along with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities are key to this role.
