Freeman is seeking a Traffic Manager to be responsible for managing all local, intrastate and interstate motor vehicle dispatch responsibilities, supervising drivers and establishing schedules for drivers, vehicles, and equipment, as well as coordinating with other departments to facilitate synchronization. Additional duties include:

  • Manages all drivers and their activities, scheduling job assignments at specific hours and locations with continuous communication as to progress.

  • Works with Branch Management to help control and reduce labor hours and costs

  • Communicates with sales and operations via e-mail and other means in a timely manner to ensure excellent internal customer service

  • Communicates effectively with show site, freight and cross dock personnel, tracking trailer movement progress and assess labor calls, ensuring budgeted labor numbers are met.

  • Creates and enters all driver labor hour projections into the Labor Budgeting Tool and monitors on a daily basis

  • Projects, locates and secures additional lease trailers as needed; works with purchasing to ensure best possible pricing

  • Creates accurate records of trailer locations, including branch owned units; communicating with purchasing about trailers currently on or off lease to control costs

  • Follows Freeman's safety rules and procedures and operates in compliance with DOT standards. Conducts daily safety meetings with drivers.

  • Monitors safety inspections and logs for all Freeman vehicles; schedules maintenance and repairs as needed

  • Handles emergency calls after standard business hours.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience

  • This individual must be energetic with positive attitude,

  • A team player with excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations

  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license.


  • Truck driving experience
  • CTS certificate


  • High School Diploma or GED

The position serves on the Wildlife Section Management Team (SMT). Responsibilities include: * Manage budgets and fiscal activities of the Wildlife Populations and Regulations Program unit and assist the Wildlife Management Section Manager in preparation of biennial budgets, budget initiatives, and performance reports so that wildlife management programs are adequately funded and supported. * Participate in agency wide management and provide leadership as assigned by the Wildlife Management Section Manager so that Division and Department goals and objectives for the benefit of wildlife resources, resource users, and the public are met. * Manage wildlife season and regulatory processes so that hunting and trapping seasons are sustainable and are responsive to the needs of citizens, and meet wildlife population objectives. * Develop wildlife populations and regulations programs and coordinate and communicate with constituent groups, other Department disciplines, government agencies, and the legislature. * Manage and supervise a well-qualified staff to advise, monitor and support the field operations and to represent wildlife programs to the public and other agencies. * As assigned by the Wildlife Management Section Manager, collaborate with other managers and supervisors to develop and implement Section, Division and Department comprehensive planning and budgeting processes and develop strategic plans, policies and budget recommendations for the Division so that limited management resources are most effectively and efficiently applied to accomplish the highest priority wildlife management, information, and inventory needs. Coordinate with operational and field-based long and short range planning efforts. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in natural resources sciences such as: wildlife biology, ecology, wildlife management, or closely related field. * A minimum of three (3) years managerial or advanced supervisory experience directing and supervising wildlife management or research sufficient to advise, monitor and support section operations. * Must have academic knowledge and advanced professional experience in the natural resources management field. * Demonstrated management and/or leadership skills. * Experience managing ecological, natural resource, or wildlife management programs. * Organizational and interpersonal skills to direct, develop, and engage staff. * Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment by incorporation of multi-disciplined interests into decisions and actions. * Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution, and consensus building with diverse groups in order to solve difficult and sensitive problems. * Possess oral and written communications to effectively communicate complex information in varied settings to a wide variety of audiences. * Ability to direct effective workplace safety programs. Physical Requirements Requires occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently.
