The Digital Product Line Manager (PLM) is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the Product Line. Digital PLM will manage the product portfolio ensuring that the product portfolio is competitive in a global market. The PLM will be responsible for defining the scope of the products and the deliverables of the products. In addition, the PLM is responsible to ensure that all sales teams have the necessary training and materials that are needed to sell Digital products. The PLM is also responsible for the pricing, proposals, and agreements of the products and associated services, through working with other groups in ABS, such as the Global Business Development team. The PLM will also act as an executive sales representative and meet with high-level customer executives to show the value of ABS Digital product suites.

What You Will Do:

  • The PLM is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the Digital product line.

  • Training of global sales teams and preparation of materials required to be successful in the sales process.

  • Coordinate and organize the preparation and delivery of operational and technical training to regional teams for ABS digital technologies.

  • Identify business opportunities for digital products and coordinate the necessary resources from each region to capitalize.

  • Manage the product line portfolio. Work with the development teams to create new products, features, and capabilities that will satisfy the demands of each region and market ensuring performance and price are appropriate to be competitive.

  • Create budgets and business plans that will result in the annual operating plan for the product line.

  • Responsible for defining the scope of the products, working with other groups in ABS, such as the Sustainability Group, Engineering, and Operations.

  • Responsible for the deliverables of the products, working with the digital development team and other relevant groups in ABS.

  • Responsible for pricing of the products and related services, working with Global Business Development (BD) Commercial Operations and FSC Strategic pricing team.

  • Responsible for proposals and agreements related to the responsible products and working with Global BD Proposals teams and relevant regional BD.

  • Identify trends in digital technologies and offerings globally and ensure that the business direction of the product line is in line with these trends.

  • Assist regional sales teams in the preparation of bids, tenders, and quotations by giving product information, marketing materials, and pricing guidance along with any other necessary support.

  • Represent ABS Digital product lines to high-level customer managers and executives.

  • Identify new technologies that can be integrated into products and work with legal to ensure necessary intellectual property can be defended against competitors.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to customers, industry professional associations, and others that will elevate the brand awareness of ABS Digital.

  • Work with marketing and sales to ensure that all marketing and sales material is appropriate to all ABS markets globally.

  • Work with all ABS groups to cross-sell products that will enhance overall ABS offerings.

  • Prepare business plans and new product development to create an execution plan.

  • Draft and manage the product life cycle for enhancements and both major and minor versioning.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Requires 7+ years of experience in marine or offshore engineering, operations, or product line management analytics offerings or digital portfolios.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.

  • Leadership and team-building experience required

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments

  • Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Experience budgeting, planning, and organizing

  • Experience in marine or offshore industries required.

  • The ability to travel locally and internationally by approximately 10% annually.

  • Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to Digital Solutions Vice President or other Executive, Director, or Management level position.
