Job Summary:
This position is within BDO's Forensic Insurance & Recovery practice, which assists clients in the successful financial recovery via commercial policyholder insurance claims, or other financial damages claims.
The Manager is responsible for project management and is the lead client contact for engagements. Managers are also responsible for planning, progress reporting, and executing on client projects. Managers assist on internal practice initiatives as required.
Job Duties:
Leads the preparation and evaluation of large commercial business interruption insurance claims, and other projects
Manages day-to-day interaction and communications with client contacts, project staff and engagement leadership
Oversees multiple client projects and manages them effectively for consistent progress
Identifies potential matters of contention within the insurance claim adjustment process and proactively identifies solutions
Participates in business development activities
Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises the day-to-day workload of Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work product
Ensures Senior Associates and Associates are trained on all relevant core competencies
Evaluates the performance of Senior Associates and Associates and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
Assists in practice management areas including recruiting, training & continuing education, practice quality initiatives, and others as required
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
Experience:
Six (6) or more years of experience in Finance, Accounting and/or Professional client services role, preferred
Prior experience in preparing or evaluating business interruption insurance claims or commercial financial damages claims, preferred
License/Certifications:
CPA certification, preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid organizational skills especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
Contributes to the development of the engagement strategy, including deciding on calculation methodologies and other factors involved in how to approach the work
Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel
Assists in practice business development efforts, including client pursuits and proposals
Supports a collaborative and team-oriented environment while pushing themselves, their peers, and their teams for strong results and quality work
Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact on assigned engagements
Effectively handles firm and practice administrative matters, including engagement staffing, client billing, monitoring project economics and adherence to Firm quality standards and protocols
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
California Range: $100,000 - $150,000
Colorado Range: $100,000 - $150,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $100,000 - $150,000
Washington Range: $100,000 - $150,000
