Summary:

Assists the department director with planning, staffing, directing resources, and the decision making processes in the food and nutrition services department. Assists each client as directed in matters relating to operations.

Collaborates with team members to provide medical nutrition therapy. Performs the key functions of nutrition care according to system policy. Develops and implements the nutrition care plan for clients.

Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of nutrition intervention. Provides nutrition education to clients and family members. Fosters continuity of care among all phases of the system.

Participates in performance improvement and research activities as indicated. Actively assesses, evaluates and maintains professional development and competency.

Formal Education Required:

a. Baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major

b. Successful completion of coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian

c. Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration

d. Licensed dietitian (LD) by the Ohio Board of Dietetics

Experience & Training Required:

a. One (1) year food service related experience to include serving in a leadership role.

b. Ability to analyze problem situations accurately and implement positive corrective actions

c. Good organizational skills to independently establish time tables, meet deadlines and prioritize workloads

d. Excellent documentation skills

e. Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and administrative personnel

f. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives

g. Assumes responsibility for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy

h. Ability to operate a computer

i. Member of the American Dietetic Association

j. Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance.

k. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

Level of Physical Demands:

a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently

$33.66/hr - $50.49/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
