Manager, Fleet Operations

Are you passionate about big trucks and tech?  Do you have a history of successfully managing a fleet, but are looking for the next challenge?  We need a dynamic fleet leader for our 100+ vehicle fleet.  This is not the same old boring fleet leadership role with predictable challenges across a cookie-cutter fleet.  Our fleet is made up of specialty vehicles and no two are alike!  Each vehicle has a unique set up and personality which allows us to bring brands’ ideas to life in exciting and interesting ways.  From airstreams to glass trucks, stage trailers and pickups (and yes, the occasional box truck and van) our fleet is based in the Philly suburbs but regularly travels across the country to the biggest events.  We're looking for a tech-obsessed professional that is ready to manage our fleet whether they are “at home” or on the road.  Are you ready to make an impact and “own” your very own specialty fleet?  If the answer is Yes, we’d love to hear from you!

RESPONSIBILITIES | ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Plans, directs, and manages the acquisition, utilization, maintenance/repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles and related assets; develops and implements safety, preventative maintenance, and accident prevention programs
• Provides  oversight and direction to field based drivers on all matters related to the operation and maintenance of vehicles for the duration of deployment; troubleshoots mechanical issues remotely and sources service providers to ensure minimal downtown for deployed vehicles
• Ensures vehicles are properly maintained for operational readiness as needed; educates and collaborates with sales and program management teams to identify most appropriate vehicles to meet client/program needs 
• Develops and manages fleet operating budget; controls expenses including managing fleet fuel program
• Operates and oversees use of fleet management software to ensure maximum uptime, reliability and cost control; maintains vehicle records to ensure compliance with applicable  laws and regulations; maintains relationship with DOT consultant
• Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance and other essential services including regional/national providers to support deployed vehicles
• Supervises and coaches headquarters-based drivers/maintenance helpers; oversees and directs other HQ staff who may assist with vehicle maintenance, storage and relocation
• Drives company vehicles as needed
• Models Aardvark Studios’ core values and works collaboratively with and is of service to other team members including pitching in when/where needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Undergraduate  degree in business, management or related discipline 
• 8-10  years of management experience in fleet operations and/or fleet maintenance; multi-state management experience strongly preferred

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations, and IRP & IFTA registration requirements; experience managing DOT, IRP & IFTA compliance strongly preferred

• Experience implementing and controlling  operating budget
• Proficiency with fleet management software and other office administration applications; working knowledge of Fleetio, Google Suite preferred
• Working knowledge of vehicle mechanics and maintenance
• CDL required; Class A CDL preferred
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong, positive work relationships at all levels within the company and with external partners, vendors and service providers
• Ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and is organized, results-focused, manages time/schedule effectively, and demonstrated ability to prioritize and achieve desired outcomes in a fast-paced, changing work environment
• Must be able to work flexible schedule and be on-call for response to emergency situations as needed including evenings and/or weekends
