The requisition is for a dynamic Firmware Manager to lead an experienced, motivated team of BIOS engineers to develop platform BIOS solutions for AMDs cutting edge server products. The position entails applying inspired leadership skills, solid sottware development methodology and sound coding experience to guide a team of UEFI BIOS developers, creating as well as supporting external customers in their productization of open source BIOS solutions.

A successful candidate will employ previous leadership experience to motivate, grow, and guide the team to optimal performance, apply customer-facing experience to manage external partners and vendors, as well as guide the team technically, instituting solid coding, debug, and design process. Expectations will include employing well-honed organizational skills and techincal management to drive difficult issues to closure across various teams to ensure on-schedule, defect-free system firmware product development, reducing AMDs time to market. A candidate must possess the technical proficiency and interpersonal confidence to drive technical vision, product direction, team focus and concisely represent each of those internally as well as externally

Skills:

Software or Firmware management experience mandatory

Proven track record of strong leadership success mandatory

UEFI BIOS leadership preferred

Customer facing experience mandatory

Intimate knowledge of software design process mandatory

C and ASM programming experience expected

Strong debug methodology and skills expected

Experience in server BIOS architecture expected

Experience in x86 architecture expected

Knowledge of industry standard initiatives such as (ACPI, SMBIOS, PCIe) expected

Strong analytical skills and debug methodology expected

Experience:

BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE degree or higher

2 or more years of technical leardership required

5 or more years of software development required

As a member of the Embedded Software Group, you will lead a team responsible for delivering key firmware solutions for the enablement of our programmable logic devices, including low-level libraries and support infrastructure for embedded processors. We are looking for the following minimum qualification:- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering- 5 years of embedded development experience- 3 years of experience managing embedded/software teams - Good understanding of device drivers, RTOS, and bare-metal development in C and C++- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms- Experience with embedded microprocessors based on ARM, MIPS, and/or DSP cores.
