Responsibilities

  • Perform financial statement analysis on a quarterly and annual basis; assist in the preparation of a quarterly balance sheet reporting package for NBCU finance leadership and Comcast

  • Responsible for the collection, consolidation and analysis of financial information underlying the financial statements, footnotes and supporting schedules

  • Support the SEC reporting team in all aspects of quarterly and annual SEC filings

  • Work with NBCU business controllership teams to gather and support information necessary to address new accounting standard implementations

  • Work closely with NBCU business controllership teams on issues impacting financial statement and footnote presentation and disclosure

  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with NBCU business unit FP&A teams. Contribute in developing responses to standard and ad-hoc inquiries and requests from NBCU finance leadership

  • Participate in ad hoc projects, including supporting the corporate controllership team with technical accounting research, peer comparison disclosures, acquisitions/divestitures & due diligence activities

  • Monitor key internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or related field

  • CPA or working towards CPA required

  • Minimum or 4years of relevant experience. Public Accounting experience preferred.

This role reports into the Corporate Controller in our New York headquarters. RESPONSIBILITIES * Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for internal reporting purposes * Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with SEC rules for external reporting purposes (10Qs and 10K) * Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility on a quarterly and annual basis * Continue to develop reporting processes, procedures and documentation and internal controls over financial reporting * Research and document conclusions related to technical accounting issues and developments * Assist the rest of the accounting team with certain monthly close activities * Other responsibilities include but not limited to participation in special projects, system enhancements or ad hoc analyses as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * 10+ years of experience in general accounting functions, including direct experience with external reporting in accordance with SEC * Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC best practices related to financial reporting * Strong analytical and creative problem solving abilities * Experience with Netsuite General Ledger and Workiva a huge plus * Experience with international consolidations also a huge plus * Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet tight deadlines required * Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required About Squarespace Squarespace makes beautiful products to help people with creative ideas succeed.
