Job Summary:

ERI is seeking an experienced and qualified candidate for an immediate full-time job opening for the position of Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), located in San Leandro, CA. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance & Treasurer.

In this highly visible, critical role on the FP&A team, the candidate will lead core financial processes (i.e., Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasts, Monthly Reporting & Analysis), develop, interpret and analyze complex financial and accounting concepts and techniques for financial planning and control, and assist leadership in evaluating and implementing business strategy.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with all levels of management for the end-to-end development of annual operating plans including process flow, time line, review meeting coordination, document creation and control, and financial consolidation

  • Oversees the quarterly forecast processes with an emphasis on developing high quality forecasts with a thorough understanding of potential risks and opportunities

  • Tracks and analyzes performance against the financial plan, forecast and prior year

  • Works to identify root cause for shortfalls vs. plan and prior year as required. Identifies, recommends and implements corrective action plans as required

  • Leads data collection and consolidation required to understand sales and margin analysis, structural cost analysis, customer and product profitability, pricing, market dynamics and working capital optimization

  • Develops a standard reporting package to communicate results to management and the leadership team, summarizes key conclusions and recommends opportunities for improvement where appropriate

  • Develops the tools to support analyzing the results and performance of the sales channels, vertical markets, product lines or categories and geographical regions

  • Track platform actions, budgets and various initiatives to ensure accuracy of financial forecasts and budget reviews

  • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts

  • Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements

  • Research and prepare economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements

  • Assist organization's controller in the development of corporate financial requirements

  • Prepare material for presentations to executive management and Board of Directors

  • Assist executive management with Investor Relations management and analysis

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Extensive Knowledge of:

  • Financial accounting, reporting, management and financial forecasting methods

  • Management/KPI reporting, profitability reporting & analysis, predictive analytics, planning & forecasting, budgeting, enterprise performance management, and internal financial reporting

  • Modern management principles and practices

  • Microsoft Office products

Advanced Skills in:

  • Microsoft Office products, with expert level Excel skills including ability to program in VBA, create complex financial models, and integrate models with external Financial database APIs such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg.

  • Developing and implementing plans to achieve set goals and objectives

  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with executive management through manufacturing personnel, and maintain public relations

  • Handling conflict and uncertain situations

  • Collecting, analyzing and interpreting large amounts of data

  • Presenting concise financial information to a variety of audiences

  • Use of large, complex, multi-departmental financial systems

Significant Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Work with and coordinate between multiple departments to meet goals and objectives

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Executive Management, directors, managers, other employees, and third parties

  • Cross-collaborate with all departments and levels within the Company

  • Prepare well-argued and structured presentations to senior management

  • Maintain a strong attention to detail

  • Produce accurate reports

  • Manage multiple tasks & prioritize against deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent required.

  • Master's Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting or equivalent preferred.

  • 3-5 years experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Operational Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking or Management Consulting.

  • Experience in manufacturing industry and Cost Accounting preferred

  • Experience with Business Intelligence Solutions such as Qlikview, Tableau, Power BI a plus

  • Experience with ERP software, PL/SQL, SQL Server, .NET preferred

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and International Accounting Standards (IAS)
