The Accounting Manager has primary responsibility for assisting with Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting and Risk Advisory engagement work plans. Serving as a current and future leader of the firm, the Manager demonstrates the attributes of excellent client service and assists team members in developing technical and professional competency.

The
Managers Core

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse group of projects, which may include IPO readiness (S-1 drafting and filing), CFO advisory services, technical accounting and reporting support, business combination support, audit readiness, transaction advisory and risk advisory services.
  • Manage engagement budget matters, review client invoices prior to Director/Partner review, ensuring engagement team billable hours are maintained as well as effective communication to Director/Partner on engagement status
  • Perform technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos on complex issues such as debt and equity issuances, business combinations, debt modification and extinguishments, collaboration agreements and share-based compensation arrangements
  • Perform work around business combinations, including closing and opening balance sheets, preparation of financial statements for acquired companies, completion of pro forma statements and related financial statement disclosures
  • Create project plans for new engagements and ensure appropriate resources are included
  • Take on the role of an official mentor for a minimum of 1 team member while also unofficially mentoring other staff members
  • Work with internal CPE committee and present topics during internal CPE training
  • Provide direct support on various special projects

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent required
  • CPA license required
  • 6+ years of relative accounting experience; at least 3 in public accounting or professional services highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of current accounting (GAAP) and auditing (GAAS) & General knowledge of auditing processes
  • Experience working with public companies highly preferred
  • Ability to manage teams and own their work product
  • Desire to continually work towards enhancing technical and project management skills through on the job feedback, performance evaluations, mentoring and firm-sponsored formal training programs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel skills

As a leader of the firm, the Financial Reporting Senior Manager will demonstrate excellent project management skills, client service, and positive coaching to the team members in developing technical and professional competency.</p><p><strong>Core Responsibilities: </strong></p><ul> <li>Delegate the preparation of the financial statements and technical accounting position papers to the engagement team members for both public and private companies, as well as other required support materials. </li> <li>Independently research and oversee the research by team members of complex accounting topics, to evaluate potential solutions and provide guidance to the team on next steps. </li> <li>Review accounting memos, financial statements, and other client deliverables prepared by engagement team members, ensuring general accounting standards are applied appropriately. Provide detailed review comments to preparer(s).</li> <li>Independently provide conclusions and recommendations on application of complex accounting guidance to clients and external parties, as requested by the client.</li> <li>Independently facilitate calls with the SEC, client auditors, client legal counsel, etc. as deemed necessary to accomplish project goals.</li> <li>In depth understanding of engagement requirements and client’s business. Responsible for knowledge sharing of client’s business to engagement team. </li> <li>Manage client product workload to drive a minimum of $1,200,000 in revenue to the Firm.</li> <li>Assist directors and/or engagement partners in developing budget plans, communicate those budgets to the engagement team and monitor team progress.</li> <li>Take ownership of the engagement while managing upward and downward expectations to ensure deadlines are met and project stays on budget.</li> <li>Lead multiple engagement teams simultaneously to further the Firm’s goals and objectives. </li> <li>Timely completion of project schedules ensuring the appropriate amount of resources are dedicated to individual projects. Continuous monitor of resource allocation to avoid over-scheduling individual team members. </li> <li>Ensure timely completion of periodic invoices of projects. Manage engagement profit margin through client invoice process ensuring expectations are aligned between client and internal team.</li> <li>Accepts responsibility for billable hours and remains productive in times of reduced client workload.
