POSITION PURPOSE

  • In this position, the Manager of Finance will be expected to provide total financial leadership, direction and analysis to the functional management team.

  • The Finance Manager will be expected to provide financial controllership around strategies to drive incremental sales and profits of Home Depot credit card products and Home Depot Protection Plans

  • The Finance Manager will play a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and work closely with the Sr. Finance Manager and functional leaders in order to achieve business goals and create shareholder value

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to functional leaders for key initiatives, including strategies for new credit card account generation, increasing sales from existing Home Depot credit card customers, improving operational efficiencies and/or the creation and implementation of new features/services that will enhance the customer experience.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Evaluate financial impact of new and existing credit programs, promotions, products and services that support the needs of current or future customers, or that support new strategic initiatives or acquisitions.

  • Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving: Works to fully understand business; partner with functional leaders on new credit product and program designs, as well as their development and implementation based on projected profitability.

  • Participates and leads in preparation of annual planning for sales and margin items; forecasts performance based on trends and key drivers; and prepares/reviews reporting of weekly/monthly metrics to ensure that budgetary goals are met.

  • Project Management: Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage. Facilitates cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including but not limited to Finance, Operations, and IT.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • Typically reports to Sr. Manager Credit Services

  • Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.

Travel: Typically requires overnight travel up to 5%-10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 6 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Planning (Budgeting), Forecasting, and Financial Analysis

  • Experience in Retail or Financial Services industries

  • MBA

  • Working knowledge of SQL and Google BigQuery

  • Working knowledge of Tableau

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in team-based, matrix environment with multiple customers and partners

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and re-prioritize as necessary to meet key deadlines

  • Ability to query large amounts of data to perform analysis and leverage the data to craft a well-thought story utilizing Power Point.

  • Extensive experience using Excel to develop financial analyses, forecasts, and/or planning models
