Pearson Online Learning Services is the leading provider of online higher education. We offer many ways to learn: from short courses and bootcamps to full-time bachelor's and master's degrees. This role will provide senior commercial and financial support to our business teams and leadership, with a focus on developing and incubating new business models.

POLS partners with over 30 academic partners to enable more than 300 online degree programs. We also deliver educational pathways directly to corporations and individual learners. Our business generates over $300m revenue growing at double digits, with over 1,200 passionate team members across North America.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess current performance and outlook to set clear targets for budgeting & forecasting.

  • Improve the quality and utility of business data and reporting in conjunction with our analytics team.

  • Partner closely with leadership to develop strategies and financial operating models for new business initiatives. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to secure investment and resourcing.

  • Track new business initiative performance against KPIs and stage gates. Continually iterate and improve.

  • Setup financial processes (e.g. billing, revenue recognition) for new business initiatives.

  • Support account management and business development teams to make investment decisions regarding new programs, partnerships and ad hoc business cases

Qualifications

Qualifications and experience:

Required

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented with a strong work ethic

  • 5 years of experience in corporate finance, consulting and/or financial services

  • Superior commercial acumen, financial modelling, data analysis and attention to detail

  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn new concepts quickly

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence to manage across diverse teams

Recommended

  • MBA and/or accountancy credential

  • Experience with Oracle and plug-in planning tools

  • Capability with advanced data analytics, coding and/or data visualization (e.g. Tablea
