General Summary

Manage the daily execution of the retail merchandising, store operations and program communication/execution functions for the Farm Supply Business Unit to generate sustainable, profitable sales/margin growth for SSC across all channels of distribution with a priority focus on Company Owned Retail (COR). Implement SOPs, Gantt Tools, program calendars, operational KPIs, compliance/regulatory templates and system analytics to support the local store level operational process of the Farm Supply Business Unit across all channels of distribution with a priority focus on COR and complementary Business Unit Function. Provide sales to space productivity and merchandise planning SME related to the Farm Supply Business Unit utilizing the product lifecycle process and 60-day selling cycle with a goal of producing a positive ROI model for the onboarding and exiting of product & marketing programs throughout the Southern States distribution system. Continuously develop, train and drive COR, Member Co-Ops and Independent Dealers to identify and exploit Farm Supply product program opportunities within an annual retail operations calendar. Serve as the field liaison between COR, Member Co-Op, Independent Dealer and Marketing sales teams to execute the Farm Supply program calendar.

Essential Job Functions

  • Implement SOPs, Gantt Tools, program calendars, operational KPIs, compliance/regulatory templates and system analytics to provide an automated, scalable approach to retail growth of Farm Supply sales/margin targets with a priority focus on COR.

  • Ensure uninterrupted daily operational process execution throughout all SSC distribution channels with a priority focus on COR that provides a competitive advantage to SSC vs. all relevant competitors.

  • Provide seamless retail training across all channels of distribution with a priority focus on COR. Utilize vendor partners where applicable and related technology tools to scale across the enterprise. This should allow for diverse, continuous training of store associates on product and process requirements to run a sustainable, profitable retail store.

  • Utilize a dynamic 12-18 month marketing program calendar to drive marketing operations, training and implementation processes at the local level, including local store marketing, POP marketing materials and loyalty programs.

  • Implement retail-merchandising layouts throughout all Farm Supply channels of distribution with a priority focus on COR. Initiate actions to eliminate both excess and dead inventory across the entire supply chain by leveraging a product lifecycle process that produces a positive ROI model for the onboarding and exiting of product programs to be managed utilizing a 60-day selling cycle, an OGBB assortment strategy featuring a mix/margin pro-forma tool and anchored in sales to space analysis.

  • Make suggestive, proactive, incremental selling suggestions based upon objective market intelligence/data analysis to drive incremental sales and margin capture for the Farm Supply Business Unit with a priority focus on COR.

  • Serve as the lead Farm Supply Business Unit field liaison. Deliver fluid feedback on field based consumer responses to the Farm Supply Business Unit and related adjustments from the Farm Supply Business Unit back to the field.

  • Provide cross-functional technical expertise to mission critical internal & external stakeholders that contribute to special projects related to key corporate wide initiatives.

SCOPE: Responsible for the daily execution of the retail merchandising, store operations and program communication/execution functions for the Farm Supply Business Unit to generate sustainable, profitable sales/margin growth for SSC across all channels of distribution with a priority focus on COR.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience

Experience: Five+ years of experience in a store operations environment preferred

  • Prior retail store operations experience required. Regional store operations management or greater preferred.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise technology tools such as; JDA, JDE, Adaptive, Spaceman, Cube, Tableau, Crystal, Alteryx, Oracle, SAP, Manhattan, Salesforce, MerchantAg, Microsoft Access, Minitab, SPSS, Stata, etc., preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment

Primarily performs essential job functions in a store or office environment. While traveling may have contact with hazardous materials. Drive/travel and work in adverse weather conditions. May require a valid driver's license. Travel required 50% to 70% of time (includes overnight travel).

Physical Activities & Requirements

While performing the essential job functions of this position, the Director Inventory Pricing and Replenishment is required to:

  • Continuously sit, drive, finger and handle, utilize eye/hand coordination, and utilize hands in repetitive motion.

  • Frequently stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands. Pull, push, lift, carry up to 10 pounds unassisted.

  • Occasionally climb and stoop. Pull, push, lift, carry up to 30 pounds unassisted.

Must be able to hear and speak to employees, customers and business partners regarding day-to-day operational issues and exchange detailed information and instructions accurately & quickly. When in production, distribution, and/or retail facilities, must be able to hear equipment sounds, pages, radio and speak to co-workers regarding safety issues. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Utilize telephone, computer, copier, printer, calculator, writing instrument, spreadsheets and forms.
