The manager is responsible for managing, planning, and coordinating construction projects and installation, operation, and maintenance of uninterrupted light, refrigeration, water and sewerage, and service utilities for hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment. Oversees and directs departmental actives to ensure quality services for both internal and external customers.

Ensures optimal staff productivity and engagement. Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with others to advance the hospital mission.

Participates in strategic planning for the hospital and/or service line of which they are apart. Conducts Environment of Care, Healthy Work Environment, and all maintenance rounds per Director of Facilities Services. Maintains all Physical Plant repairs and day to day operations in conjunction with Chief Engineer.

Assumes the responsibility of maintaining the Work Order system to ensure accuracy of work order status, PM completion, and communication. Assumes fiscal responsibility and maintains accurate records of all expenses charged to the department. Works with the Facilities Team to ensure completion of all hospital projects.

Keeps the Director of Facility Services informed and abreast at all times. Assumes the duties of the Director in his absence. Have a 7-daya-week "Bottom line" responsibility for a significant component of their areas of responsibility.

Position Requirements:
(Minimum qualifications for the position)

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Engineering or other related fields preferred.

  • Experience: Seven years relevant experience in hospital facility services and central plant preferred. Three years progressive leadership in area of expertise preferred.
