We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager with experience in AWS, Cloud Native Technologies, Kubernetes, Java, and SQL. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development and maintenance of our public website, SSO and enterprise platform applications. You will be managing a team of talented software engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. This role also requires maintaining on-call rotation and providing support for critical applications in production. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation.

Technical Leadership
Comprehensive understanding of various AWS services relevant to web application development such as EKS, IAM, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB
Ability to architect, deploy, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure AWS infrastructure for web applications.
Strong command over Java programming language including latest features and best practices.
Knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS)
Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices for automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.
Ability to implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for proactive system health monitoring and troubleshooting.
Experience is supporting mission critical applications in production
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure service reliability
Collaborate with the partner teams to implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of software solutions
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
Develop and diversify the skills of the team members to meet future challenges and ensure the continuity of succession plans.
Ensure each team member has a balance between production support and development.
Ensure all applications can be supported by all team members and key technical expertise is not concentrated amongst a small subset of staff.
Keep team's skills up-to-date to contend with the Digital Transformation
Lead by example promoting core IT Tenets
Collaboration with Business and IT Units:
Collaborate with the operations team to implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on production issues and resolutions
Increase end-user satisfaction by monitoring and promoting quality and building relationships with key customers.
Project Management:
Manage projects related to data engineering and business intelligence initiatives
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Monitor progress, manage resources, and mitigate risks to ensure successful project completion.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban for iterative and incremental software development.
Security and Compliance
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and techniques to ensure the security and compliance of web applications deployed on AWS.
Understanding of AWS security services, identity and access management (IAM), and industry security standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
3+ years experience with AWS services (e.g., EKS, IAM, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB)
3+ years experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
3+ Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
Experience working in a DevOps environment
Preferred AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer)
