Job Description Summary
This position will provide subject matter expertise and technical support for the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting across Lamb Weston. The role requires sound knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ESG rules and regulations (including U.S. and international standards) and will lead in distributing routine financial reports, maintaining/updating monthly accounting schedules, and assisting with the preparation of audit schedules, and building processes to ensure the accuracy of information being reported. This position also helps with the preparation of ESG specific reporting within the Company's quarterly and annual filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This position communicates with various personnel both within Lamb Weston as well as with external customers and service providers. The consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of this communication are vital and must clearly convey all outstanding issues.
Job Description
Represent controllership in the ESG space by leveraging internal and external resources to stay updated on current developments and best practices
Drive internal management for ESG data transparency and quality
Engage with internal ESG data owners and subject matter experts (cross-functional) as the expert on reporting accuracy, completeness, and controls
Lead ESG data aggregation for the Company's annual financial reporting efforts
Support building the roadmap, operational plan, and execution of the following activities, aligned to the SEC and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements:
Participate in double materiality assessment.
Solidify end to end process for collecting the most material ESG data points.
Build the internal control framework and structure to ensure complete and accurate ESG data for both limited assurance (initially) and reasonable assurance (following).
Coordinate and communicate the work to be done across the Controllers organization (including statutory reporting requirements)
Support and advise on ESG risk assessment activities
Develop & implement data controls and processes to support the internal and external assurance of ESG data
Identify where we need short term fixes vs. longer term more strategic plan around ESG data reporting and controls
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams, including Sustainability and Internal Audit
Select and work with external auditors and internal teams during audits of sustainability metrics
Assist with the preparation of technical accounting memos and potential mergers and acquisition activity
Exercise judgment in financial, operational, or transactional analysis to identify and help resolve issues
Assist with evaluating effectiveness of processes, procedures, and control environment and develop improvements, as needed
Participate in special projects involving general accounting, such as FASB updates, business partner requests, and systems conversions
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; accounting or finance preferred
CPA, CMA certification and/or advanced degree preferred
7+ years of business experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting. Some experience with a public accounting firm preferred
Experience with ESG or other sustainability related frameworks and reporting preferred
General knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the basics of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Understand IFRS and other local accounting standards for international entities, and reconcile with U.S. GAAP
Ability to lead/coordinate work across teams within the organization to implement technical standards/reporting requirements and lead projects
Strong communication, organization, and planning skills
Proven experience with managing and guiding a team
Proven ability to multi-task and strong project management skills
Proficient PC skills with SAP financials experience preferred
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Products

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $110,610.00 - $165,920.00
