Our Manager, Environmental Health, Safety & Security plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality and safety standards of our pharmaceutical products. Once you complete our training, your responsibilities will include continually promoting QuVa Pharma's Safety, Environmental, and Security Culture and for the design, implementation, communication, and coordination of the company's various safety and training programs in support of operations at the QuVa facility. This person will provide leadership, direction, support and expertise for leadership and all team members. Works collaboratively with stakeholders in leading and maintaining an effective behavioral and cultural safety program to ensure that all safety programs are aligned with the strategic direction of the company. This is a position for safety-related training, program development and new initiative implementation. This position collaborates with various departments and executive leadership within QuVa Pharma. What the Manager, EHS&S Does Each Day:
Champions supporting the EHS Mission, Policy, Vision, and Expectation of QuVa Pharma to further a culture of safety
Identifies best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
Conducts or coordinate worker training in areas such as workplace safety, compliance and regulation, hazardous condition assessment, and the use of safety equipment
Investigate incidents, near-miss events, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventative measures, and manage return-to-work activities. Communicates activities with leadership
Provides technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes
Evaluates employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short- and long-term strategic safety goals, development needs, and the use of best practices
Ensures compliance with environmental company, state, and federal regulations
Responsible for the Security Program and for the site
Manages the security contractor and ensuring compliance with QuVa procedures, regulations, and contract
Responds to security system failures and breaches with an investigation to assess system weaknesses
Responsible to ensure Security contractor is trained on the QuVa procedures and process
Manages site performance metrics related to EHS
Responsible for tracking and trending activities. Presents trend conclusions
Updates/creates relevant SOP's and Work Instructions
Issues periodic report for trend analysis of site metrics in support of maintaining facility "Dashboard"
Utilizes Microsoft Excel, and other statistical programs as applicable
Our Most Successful Managers, EHS&S:
Are proficient with excel spreadsheets and other statistical
Have strong oral and written communication skills, and analytical skills with abilities to apply outcomes if
Are familiar with basic manufacturing operations performance metrics, change management, and root cause investigations
Have a fundamental understanding of high performing work teams and entrepreneurial based work systems
Have a sense of urgency, accountability, and resourcefulness (e.g., work in changing environment)
Are self-starters and independent learners
Minimum Requirements for this Role:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years' experience in a safety and management position
2+ years' experience with managing site security
Must complete First Aid, and CPR certifications as required
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; QuVa will not sponsor applicants for work visas
