What you'll do on a typical day:
Manage a variety of important and meaningful projects, including balancing schedules, resources, and competencies to ensure success
Collaborate with internal functions and external customers to exceed expectations and reach all technical, delivery, and budgetary goals
Transform requirements from preliminary client scope and early design concepts to final design, installation, testing and start-up, while overseeing vendors and installation schedules
Drive engineering principles for facility design, product flows, storage, and packaging in a high-volume distribution and warehousing operations environment, using the best technology, systems, and methods
Build and deliver process documentation for effective transition to operations and other functions
Lead design reviews to ensure oversight during the different phases of implementation
Develop a culture focused on standardized methodologies and lessons learned
Mentor, coach, influence, and develop team talent to ensure the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field
5 or more years of experience in engineering-related industry
3 years of experience with engineering management
Experience with AutoCAD
Demonstrated field experience supporting, maintaining, and monitoring labor and equipment efficiencies
Experience with project and resource management
Experience with Lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, and standard work
Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment; adhere to and ensure safe work practices and safety policies for all
Availability to travel up to 50% of the time
It'd be great if you also have:
Bachelor's degree (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering)
Experience with process and simulation tools
Prior operations experience
Excellent attention to detail; quick learner with creative problem-solving and analytical skills
Self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and guide others in the decision-making processes throughout the project life cycle
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
