What you will be doing
Safety execution & leadership
Regional safety governance and leadership via effective utilization of Responsible Engineers
Capital Management & Optimization to support business objectives
Regional engineering support to the operational sites
Cost centre management (CFC budgeting and forecasting)
Regulatory and Statutory compliance of assets delivered by project team
Compliance of project delivery to Orica's project process and SHES requirements
Work Duties:
The role uses knowledge, experience, and leadership effectively to develop the team's strategy and function in alignment with the organisation's strategy to improve the delivery benefits, ensure safe operations and enhance collaboration with stakeholders. Specifically, this includes:
Through collaboration with regional leaders, ensure alignment and governance of the Mining Services project teams to ensure priority projects achieve the required outcomes.
Participate in the strategic planning process and provide input into strategic decisions for organization, and team
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of select projects. Monitor, document and report to key stakeholders on the progress and performance of said projects.
Strong execution focus. Proven ability to work autonomously and lead project and engineering teams.
Develop strong relationships and effective communication program to identify needs and manage stakeholder expectations.
Commercial acumen in the development of cost effective and robust project delivery and engineering solutions to meet stakeholder requirements. Management of supplier/contractual relationships.
Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with emphasis on effective teamwork and personnel development.
Ensure key project personnel are appropriately trained in project management principles, Orica procedures and governance processes, as well as regional regulations.
Ensure compliance with project governance processes and procedures, ensuring that they are applied universally.
Ensure personnel have the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience to provide engineering support to project managers and throughout the Mining Services region.
Align the Responsible Engineering activities to identify key risks and implement agreed processes to appropriately manage risks including a defined governance program.

Financial: Typical projects that need to be managed will vary from hundreds of thousands of dollars to multiple millions of dollars.
Geographical: Provide project and engineering support and Responsible Engineering to ~100 sites across 4 countries.
