Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Engineering Operations that is responsible for managing and leading an 24/7 operations and testing team in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will lead a team of operators to ensure safe, continuous testing operations.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of 24/7 operators including shift management and shift logs
Review and Implement Experimental Test Campaigns
Mitigate conflicts that may impact final execution
Manage an entrant team including coordination of entries into lab testing areas
Coordinate with EHS (Env, Health, Safety) team to write Job Hazard Analyses for all complex hazardous work
Lead and conducting Pre-Job briefs to various stakeholders within the organization
Develop testing procedures
Collaborate with Engineering Teams to understand the scope of test and hazards associated with the test
Develop Operator Training Materials and coordinate with Learning & Development team for deployment of training
Operate SCADA/HMI/Control Boards, high temperature pilot systems, pumps, valves, heaters blowers, compressors
Troubleshoot equipment, electrical and instrumentation issues
Periodically makes rounds of the plant to visually check equipment to validate proper operation
Follow standard operating and emergency procedures until issues are resolved
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Experience with reading and understanding P&IDs
5-10 years of experience working at industrial plants that require 24/7 operations (e.g. Chemical, Nuclear, etc)
Preferred experience with high temperature test systems, including molten salt applications
Broad experience across power plant engineering topics
Ability to foster an environment that creates new and better ways to be successful
