JOB SUMMARY

Marriott is offering relocation assistance for this position.

  • This is a flexible shift, but will predominantly be 2nd shift; hours are typically 2:30pm-11:30pm.

Plans, directs and leads Mechanical Engineering staff in the maintenance, improvement and repair of all mechanical equipment and electrical controls. Manages a safe and efficient operation for all guests and employees.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; 3 years' experience mechanical facilities maintenance, operations management, or related professional area.

OR

  • 2-year graduate degree in Engineering; 2 years' experience mechanical facilities maintenance, operations management, or related professional area.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Mechanical Operations

  • Manages the cogeneration, energy management and mechanical systems to maximize utility savings.

  • Assists with the administration of the departmental budget.

  • Monitors work orders and preventative maintenance to ensure that work is properly complete and reported.

  • Performs routine inspections and ensure that preventative maintenance programs are carried out.

Leading Electrical Engineering Team

  • Monitors the performance of the Mechanical Engineering staff.

  • Prepares weekly employee schedules and project schedules.

  • Develops and implements training for the Mechanical Engineering staff.

  • Verifies that all staff members can properly operate area related systems.

  • Verifies that the Mechanical Engineering staff is in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and safety precautions.

  • Serves as the Manager on Duty (MOD) for the entire Engineering division.

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Interviews, selects and trains employees.

  • Appraises employee's productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.

  • Provides for the safety and security of the employees or the property.

  • Monitors employee attendance and records absences/tardiness.

  • Helps direct supervisors to achieve their own development goals.

  • Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

This position may require some travel to different areas depending upon Project assignment. The ideal candidate will have previous Construction experience and be able to perform the basic functions of the job as described below. This is an entry level position with the opportunity for advancement through an Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program sponsored by the company. Responsibilities Perform under general supervision all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, assemblies, and associated materials and equipment on all type of projects within the electrical construction industry. The Electricians Helper must demonstrate the mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and literacy skills commensurate to the satisfactory completion of the following position's primary duties and responsibilities. * Perform the basic tasks of material handling, jobsite housekeeping, tool and equipment maintenance, and general labor. * Dig trenches and excavations by use of hand tools and power equipment under general supervision. * Assist in underground conduit installation. * Assist in mounting, securing, and installing electrical raceways, fixtures, and systems. * Assist in wire pulling procedures. * Assemble pre-fabricated systems under general supervision. * Perform all tasks in a timely manner. * Understand and follow jobsite directions and instructions, both written and verbal. * Models professional behavior in accordance with Stansell Electric's Core Values, Purpose, and Injury Free safety guidelines. * Understand/Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervision.
