Job Description

This Manager position reports to the Director of Life Cycle Engineering & Support and is responsible to lead and manage the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and OpCycle Management organization, consisting of 120+ engineers, technicians, planners, and BMDA designers.

Responsible for completion of ILS work scope on all contracts, including shipbuilder, Lead Yard Services, and post-delivery and Planning Yard service contracts for multiple ship classes. Additionally, responsible for OpCycle management work scope on the DDG 51 and DDG 1000 planning yard contracts. Candidate is also responsible for briefing senior level personnel with positive results. Includes Navy (e.g. product manager, technical manager, program manager) or company's senior leadership team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Resource planning and reporting as the Control Account Manager for all ILS and OM work.

  • Scoping, implementing, and reporting progress and issues related to all change activity.

  • Regular communication with Navy counterparts on all ILS elements under development or needing updates as a result of fleet activity (modernization and repair).

  • Participating in multiple Navy working groups and steering committees involving broad-level process and systems development.

  • Presenting company performance on ILS work to NAVSEA at regular program reviews.

  • Support development of company responses to Requests For Proposals (RFPs) by identifying required ILS and OM scope and preparing associated estimates.

Products include, but are not limited to:

  • Ship system and equipment configuration data management.

  • Equipment level provisioning / spare parts lists.

  • Reliability engineering including models and growth testing.

  • System and equipment failure reporting and analysis with determination of corrective actions.

  • Navy planned maintenance development and support.

  • Technical manual authoring and publishing.

  • Ship storeroom and operating space outfitting requirements.

  • Mechanical and electrical system drawings.

  • Damage control drawings for system and compartment isolation.

  • Availability Analysis reports.

Some travel will be required to attend Navy meetings, conferences, and to visit employees at fleet locations.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Logistics, or Business with experience described below or 10 years of experience in a Navy logistics field.

Required/Preferred Experience

  • 5 years' work experience - work lead, technical expert, or supervisor required.

  • ILS or OM product development and presentation experience, Navy experience, or Merchant Marine maintenance background experience preferred.

  • Candidate must have good interpersonal skills, be team oriented, and demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.

This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire.
