JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the management of team(s) responsible for the operational development, implementation and the 24/7 highest level support of organizationally approved applications. This position is also responsible for all change management activities related to the support of their applications portfolio. This portfolio may include any applications that support patient care, registration, scheduling, human resources, finance, accounting, supply chain as well as other applications approved for use within the organization. This position will be responsible for project management functions including IT related project plan creation, management, resource leveling and coordination of project resources and budget. This position may also be responsible for vendor life cycle management, creation of request for proposals and contract management where applicable. Supervises: Application Coordinators, Application Analysts, System Administrators, Application & Interface Developers and other staff as assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provides oversight for the development of strategic business needs including the review of business case documentation.
2.Manages systems development activities.
3.Manages the implementation of new application technologies.
4.Responsible for the management of Tier II and Tier II application support for approved organizational application technologies.
5.Hires and supervises application services and development staff.
6.Responsible for the coordination.
7.Assists with the preparation and compilation of the annual budget. Provides data assistance and input in development of operating and capital budgets. Facilitates the preparation of budgets; reviews budget proposals and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
8.Provides project management services including the oversight of project budgets.
9.Develops, maintains and oversees end user and support staff training programs.
Works with Corporate Education department regarding end user training and orientation educational opportunities.
Works with IT leaders to identify areas needing specific training; to develop and enhance Super User programs as appropriate.
Works with IT leaders to identify opportunities to improve front line knowledge to enhance the customer experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Technology, Computer Science or related field required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional work experience providing applications and computer-based support in the areas of patient care, business support, web-based applications, interfacing and reporting or a closely related field is required.
Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the areas of applications that must be supported is required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Three (3) years of management or supervisory work experience preferred.
Experience working in healthcare preferred.
For clinical teams, RN or clinical licensure preferred.
