Job Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Communications to lead our employee communications strategy around employee experience, focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and corporate social responsibility (CSR). You will supervise a small team that develops and drives enterprise-wide internal communications that support T-Mobile's DE&I and CSR strategies, with a focus on connecting, empowering and mobilizing Team Magenta to be active allies fueling our inclusive culture and our social purpose. You will quarterback communications development, act as the subject matter authority, set strategy and narrative for this business area, and partner closely with senior leaders and business partners to develop and implement internal communications strategy and content. You can dig in and drive action quickly, be collaborative and creative, a critical problem solver, and knows how to get others on board.

This is a hybrid role (3 days/week in the office) and can be based in Overland Park, KS or Bellevue, Washington

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee employee engagement with DE&I strategy, including key cultural moments, engagement and learning programs, employee storytelling and thought leadership

  • Oversee employee engagement with CSR strategy, including philanthropic programs, environmental, sustainability and governance (ESG) efforts, connectivity programs

  • Own the employee narrative for T-Mobile's DE&I and CSR strategy and efforts; stay up-to-date on industry best practices, trends and social issues impacting corporate DE&I and CSR initiatives

  • Partner with communications and leadership to and collaborate on social and environmental crisis response.

  • Work closely with DE&I, CSR and ESG to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.

  • Support and enable team to create unifying and purposeful campaigns and experiences that mobilize and empower employees to be a force for good in their communities.

  • Team with key partners across communications and other large internal organizations to create a roadmap of initiatives that reinforce T-Mobile's inclusive culture, commitment to diversity and equity, and our social purpose. Drive engagement in programs that reinforce these missions.

  • Write, edit, and review short and long-form highly visible content, including emails, talking points, articles, scripts, blogs and more. Ensuring a consistent and compelling narrative that aligns to audience needs.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including designers, video producers and other partners to deliver high-quality, engaging content and materials.

  • Drive idea generation to support various audience reach and new channel development.

  • Create a standardized process for measuring and communicating results; adjusting strategy as needed.

  • Set clear expectations, goals and individual development plans, and cultural norms for the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, PR, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications and/or developing & driving complex communication plans in a fast-paced, high-volume large corporate environment.

  • Prior experience and understanding of DE&I, including but not limited to communications strategy, ERG leadership and program management.

  • Direct experience in people management and leading cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills with ability to adjust tone and style by audience.

  • Strong project management skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience advising senior-level leadership.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and organizational skills, with the ability to lead through ambiguity.

  • Deep understanding of internal communications' potential impact and value to the business; ability to communicate impacts with partners.

  • Analytics oriented; seeks out opportunities for data-based decision making and success measurement.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative.

  • Strong attention to detail with a steadfast focus on quality, accuracy and employee experience.

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Washington Pay Range: $125,800 - $170,200

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
