Position Summary: To provide assurance of safe and efficient EMS operations, and quality preâ€'hospital emergency patient care by Crozer Health Emergency Medical Services personnel and units. To assure the coordinated supervision of Crozer Health EMS staff and units as outlined by Crozer Health EMS policy and/or directives, Delaware County EHSC rules, and guidelines of the State of Pennsylvania Department of Health. To provide leadership and direction in order to promote the growth and development of EMS Staff. To oversee the day-to-day management of the EMS department in coordination with the Chief of EMS. The EMS Manager will provide daily operational leadership to the EMS Division. The EMS Manager will lead all EMS staff members in a manner to promote growth and development of the EMS Department
Minimum of 21 years of age Knowledge and experience in EMS operations is required Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Advanced Life Support provider Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in EMS Leadership Mandated and Permissive Reporter Training required# # Skills:# Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Physical Demands and Sensory Requirements:# Emergency Vehicle Driving
Operates an emergency vehicle at rapid speeds, during congested traffic, while encountering frequent distractions, such as radio usage, warning lights and sirens. Hostile Encounters
Exposed to verbal and physical abuse, while dealing with patients and bystanders.# Participates in patient restraint and personal protection. Victim Rescue
Enters damaged and unprotected motor vehicles, hazardous material environments, biohazard situations, and other hazardous environments to physically remove victims in imminent danger and/or to provide emergency care. Carries Patients / Performs Heavy Lifting
Carries one half of a patient and ambulance stretcher, or other similar weight objects, up or down, multiple flights of stairs, while assuring balance, personal, and patient safety. Approximately weight of personal carry lift 100 - 150 lb. Functions in Restrictive Breathing Atmosphere
Performs strenuous activities while wearing N95 type mask for prolonged periods of time. Operates in Dangerous Environments
Operates in unpredictable, and frequently dangerous environments. Greater than normal potential for threat and/or personal injury.
Operates around running helicopters, heavy equipment, and machinery. Operates at height; bridges, girders, elevated platforms etc. Operates over, around, and in water. Operates on foot in and around heavy traffic. Education and Training:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required
Pennsylvania Dept of Health EMT-Paramedic or higher certification
National Registry Paramedic Certification or Terminal Prehospital Certification Competency from NREMT
Ability to obtain Crozer Health EMS Medical Command Authorization
BCLS, ACLS, PALS Provider
PHTLS provider
EVOC
PA DOH EMS EMSVO
Hazmat training per OSHA requirements
ICS 100,200,700, 800 (300, 400 preferred)
Completion of an approved Leadership Development Course within 1 year of hire date
Maintains licensure and certifications as per job requirements and provides documentation
Experience and Knowledge:
