Description

REMOTE POSITION

Job Summary: Manages a team of Electrical Design Engineers responsible for designing and creating safe and efficient HVAC products, providing design guidance and oversight to assigned electrical designers for specific projects enabling them to release optimized designs. Collaborates with Management, Engineering and Electrical/Mechanical Engineer and Designer teams to ensure that all new product designs integrate seamlessly with other systems.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of Electrical Design Engineers responsible for designing and creating safe and efficient HVAC products.

  • Provides design guidance and oversight to assigned mechanical designers for specific projects enabling them to release optimized designs.

  • Collaborates with electrical and mechanical designers and engineers to ensure that the product designs integrate seamlessly with other systems.

  • Establishes and communicates standards and procedures for the testing, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of new products/equipment.

  • Oversees the development of new or modifications of current equipment diagrams and the creation of new designs for prototypes including the specifications for each component.

  • Works with engineering and operations to implement engineering change notices (ECN).

  • Supports DFMEAs, PFMEAs, CFD, FEA, and Seismic evaluations and testing.

  • Stays up to date with local and national design codes and regulations to ensure that designs meet safety standards including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA

  • Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology and 10 years' industry experience, or an Associate's degree and 15 years' industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates ability to effectively manage teams.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects, including conceptual designs, make design recommendations, and mentor Design Engineers.

  • Creativity and innovation to implement new ideas and technologies.

  • Highly skilled in Electrical Engineering and design.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.

  • Understands safety standards including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA.

  • Exhibits good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Work Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting.

  • Ability to work in conditions below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees on occasion.

  • Occasional travel as required.
