BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Manager of Health and Safety is responsible for planning, management, and direction of organization wide health and safety compliance policies and programs. The role conveys the organization's adherence to regulations as well as establishing precise standards, goals, and objectives for all staff levels. The role leads efforts in identifying and resolving health and safety concerns, implementing impactful solutions to minimize risks and elevating workplace safety culture.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.
EXPERIENCE
7+ years of relevant experience with 3-5 years of management experience, preferably health and safety operations, specializing in areas such as Health & Safety, Risk Management, Compliance Management, and Emergency Response. Oil & gas industry experience is preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads by example and integrates health and safety standards and procedures into organizational operations, promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
Serves as the organization's representative at regulatory meetings, effectively communicating the organization's compliance with federal, state, local, and tribal health and safety requirements.
Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and internal organization health and safety regulations, setting clear standards, goals, and objectives for all levels of personnel.
Directs the identification and resolution of health and safety issues, implementing effective solutions to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
Accountable for the preparation, submission, and maintenance of records of required health and safety reports, registrations, applications, licenses, certifications, permits, and notifications, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Sets actionable health and safety goals aligned with multi-year roadmaps, influences peers, and fosters an open and safe culture to encourage diverse perspectives and ideas.
Establishes clear expectations, drives cross-functional integration, and works closely with leadership peers in change initiatives, demonstrating influence, trust, and credibility across the organization.
Manages talent across the health and safety team, while driving employee selection, performance management, compensation management, career development, and ensuring effective operational management.
Work closely with the Technology organization to use appropriate data and tools for delivering "data driven decisions" and actionable insights to the organization.
