Job Title Manager Department Student Services, College of Medicine - 34720 Pay Grade 9 Job Category Administrative Job Summary

The Office of Student Services in the College of Medicine is accepting applications for a Manager. This position is responsible to the Associate Dean for managing the operation of the Office of Student Affairs and for directing the Office of Student Support Services. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling, supervision of responsibilities, training, oversight of assignments, providing resources, and promoting individual success. The Manager will be responsible for implementing and monitoring procedures for the utilization of financial resources including state, federal, and grant funds; providing administrative support for the Associate Dean to facilitate the implementation of planned activities and overall operations of the unit; and performing other related duties as assigned.

This position will be a supervisory role for all Student Services staff, coordinators, secretaries, and other staff as required by the department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent management skills including all forms of communication, trustworthiness, dependability, meeting deadlines, accountability, and self-initiative.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and office procedures.

  • Knowledge of university budgetary procedures.

  • Knowledge of the higher education environment and university/TBR rules, regulations, and procedures.

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, word processing, PowerPoint, web-based programs, university-required programs, and updating websites.

  • Knowledge of personnel management.

  • Ability to use independent, sound judgment to manage and impart confidential information.

  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments.

  • Ability to develop and implement short and long-range goals.

  • Ability to interview others, form educated opinions for hiring, and execute timely filling of open positions.

  • Ability to supervise and train staff including organizing and prioritizing work assignments.

  • Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, and/or solve problems.

  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and crisis situations.

  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to work independently as well as be a team member.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration, accounting, or healthcare administration.

  • Two years' experience in management and accounting.

  • Experience in higher education and/or medical education.

  • Administrative/professional certifications (e.g., CAP).

Salary 48,285.00
