Overview

This position is responsible for managing Direct Fulfillment operations, Weekday Shift, to ensure timely and accurate shipping and returns processing while achieving organizational goals and objectives. This includes meeting operational and financial key performance metrics and supporting J. Jill safety standards, promoting a zero-injury workplace and continued improvement in customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manages direct weekday operations, including three direct exempt reports and several indirect team leaders and associates, to ensure all direct customer orders and returns are processed to meet service metrics.• Achieves business goals by planning and developing staffing strategy for the Direct Operation to meet UPH, service metrics, and expense goals.• Reviews and monitors workflow and develops plans to remediate deficiencies by adjusting workload plans and instructing supervisors on the proper staff to meet daily goals.• Partners with internal and external customers to communicate and manage expectations and service levels. • Communicates packing and returns forecasts and results to production teams to ensure weekly packing and returns goals are met. Clearly articulates operational concerns and manages exceptions to successful resolution.• Inventories, orders, and maintains sufficient inventory levels of all direct supplies.

    Assess and maintain monthly supply budget. Ensures competitive pricing of all direct supplies through a continuous bidding process to achieve the best costs.• Communicates department goals and objectives to ensure associates have clearly defined expectations and are held accountable to those standards. • Manage the department by motivating, coaching, developing, training, and recognizing associates. Ensures supervisors uphold company standards and adhere to the safest and best methods.• Provides formal job performance feedback to supervisors through an annual evaluation process. Fosters a positive team environment that encourages productive and effective communication at all levels within the department and with all customers.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in operations management. • Experience with successful project management systems enhancements/implementations, including budget development and system integration, is preferred.• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with advanced Excel skills preferred.• Strong leadership, communication, business planning, and organization development skills.• Creative problem-solving, proactive thinking, and planning.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years of experience in a Distribution Center with 1-3 years of management experience• A bachelor's degree in management or related field is preferred
