Manager, Digital & Direct Marketing

We are searching for an experienced Manager, Digital & Direct Marketing at 600 Citadel Drive Commerce, California, 90040.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Manager, Digital & Direct Marketing reports to the Director, eCommerce & Digital Marketing. Responsible for strategy, planning and day-to-day execution of all marketing campaigns (e-commerce, email, SMS and direct mail). Primary owner and administrator of customer database, CDP and tracking efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned or required:

  • Oversee all planning, coordination and execution of marketing campaigns ensuring that there is alignment with marketing and e-commerce strategies, tracking results and ROI, and refining campaign strategies based on results.

  • Manage campaign calendar and ensure promotions, offers, thematic and messaging are aligned on brand and optimized for each channel.

  • Analyze performance, customer response, financial impact and insights to be used in future efforts. Proactively make recommendations based on findings.

  • Create benchmarks and evaluate efficacy of e-commerce acquisition and retention campaigns.

  • Make recommendations on weekly and ad hoc emails, other triggered email series and bi-monthly direct mail campaigns to targeted segments.

  • Analyze KPIs to recommend enhancements to email template design and overall look and feel.

  • Partner with outside partners and internal Customer Analytics team to develop culture of continuous testing and refinement.

  • Partner with agency and internal analytics team on CRM database improvements and long-term customer tracking and engagement.

  • Take lead in developing custom journey maps and insure database is segmented effectively for targeted marketing activities.

  • Partner with technical leads to insure database structure and CDP architecture are optimized to capture all required customer information.

  • Work with outside partners (Salesforce, Website vendor, Email vendor, etc.) to create singular "360-degree view" of the customer.

  • Leverage 3rd party data to augment and refine customer data records and campaigns.

  • Support digital team in building and maintaining relationships as the authority on customer marketing performance and engagement across the organization.

  • Establish and provide regular detailed performance reporting to management team.

  • Custodian of customer database with specific responsibility for maintenance and management of customer data to ensure data integrity.

Required Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; MBA preferred or related master's degree with 3-5 years of experience in a role acting as the lead in digital marketing or direct marketing role.

  • Experience with A/B testing, list management, segmentation, personalization, growth/acquisition, re-engagement/win back campaigns, and customer journeys.

  • Salesforce experience is highly desirable.

  • Retail background is highly desirable. Grocery experience a plus.

  • Retail Management Certificate is desirable.

Skills:
  • Must be proactive and able to adapt easily in corporate and store environments.

  • Strong self-discipline and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Detail-oriented with solid project management skills, including ability to follow through and multi-task efficiently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, subject matter experts, and contractors. Ability to speak clearly, concisely and logically in a public-speaking forum as well as in small group interactions and one-on-one.

  • Personal computer skills including the MS Office programs and the ability to apply these skills to essential duties and responsibilities is required.

  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, statistical analysis and data modeling.

  • Proficiency with transactional databases and SAS or Business Objects is required.
