KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Desktop Engineer to join our KPMG Technology organization.


  • Develop roadmaps and participate in the standards process for security solutions

  • Partner with Architecture teams to develop solution designs

  • Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends in the area of system engineering

  • Drive to deliver technology and products in the roadmap on schedule and with the highest quality

  • Provide advice, guidance and direction to carry out plans and procedures, ensuring schedule attainment, product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met

  • Provide last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysis


  • Minimum of five years of experience in an IT environment, managing and supporting projects

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or relevant work experience

  • In depth knowledge of SCCM, Microsoft Deployment Technology (MDT/OSD), Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Win7/8/10). Virtualization (VMWare, Citrix UPM/AppSense), Microsoft Office Suite (2007, 2013 and/or 365), Browsers (IE, Chrome, Edge) Scripting technologies such as VBScript, PowerShell or AutoIT Script

  • In depth knowledge of desktop security products, Symantec EndPoint Protection, Bitlocker, Carbon Black, EMET, Dell Data Protection, DLP, Bomgar, Bromium

  • Must have experience engineering solutions end to end and proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Visio for network diagramming and documentation

Position Description: The Desktop Engineer and System Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of our technology. This position is 70% user support and 30% system administration, and is responsible for the following support tasks: desktop and server troubleshooting, desktop and server hardware/software installation and upgrades, and audio video support. This successful candidate will possess a commitment to delivering quality solutions that balance the time to market needs of the business, goal and service orientation possessing a high degree of professionalism, communication and presentation. Responsibilities * Install, configure, and setup hardware / software for end users. * Support audio video conferences for members of the firm. * Respond to emails, calls and walk-ups in a timely and professional manner to manage expectations. * Tracking help requests in a ticketing system. * Assist users over the phone or at their desk with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines. * Responding to critical issues in a timely fashion and be part of an on-call rotation. Be reasonably reachable for escalation on critical issues outside of on-call rotation. * Able to work nights and weekends to assist with infrastructure upgrades, moving equipment (PCs Monitors), and all other IT Equipment as needed. * Provide support across several technology domains with a focus on core Window technologies (including AD, DFS, SQL, Exchange, etc). * Provide implementation and production support as required.
