Manager, Deployment & Itinerary

The Manager, Deployment & Itinerary Planning will manage and development, analysis and communications of deployments and itineraries, as prescribed by the Director in order to meet the commercial needs of Seabourn Cruise Line.
As a member of the itinerary planning team, you will tasked with providing wide ranging and multi-level support for the Seabourn Cruise Line deployment and itinerary planning process. This is a fast paced environment where a quick thinking, sure-footed, innovative, open minded, positive and flexible approach is required.
Manage the development of deployments & itineraries Seabourn Cruise Line and facilitate collaboration with all stakeholders throughout the planning process.
Manage itinerary revisions in order to resolve and overcome unexpected challenges and situations that occur on a day-to-day basis throughout the planning process
Manage deployment and itinerary communications throughout the planning process and lifecycle, including Itinerary Change Notification (ICN) notifications
Manage deployment and itinerary analysis and reporting as required to support commercial needs.
Create compelling itineraries with particular emphasis on commercial profitability, safety, operational feasibility and operating cost efficiency.
Provide general support and work on special projects, as prescribed by the Director of Deployment and Itinerary Planning
Responsible for ensuring that the planning process properly considers all relevant commercial, marketing, financial, nautical, safety, environmental and other operational aspects.
Assist in fuel conservation efforts related to deployment & itinerary planning, including calculation and analysis of fleet fuel consumption data.
Perform voyage safety & risk assessments as needed for Seabourn Cruise Line.
Provide itinerary planning support and act as liaison to the Charter and Incentive Sales department.
Research existing and potential destinations including all technical & nautical aspects, marketing prospects, tour potential and costs (travel required).
Perform port assessments and shepherd the approval process for new destinations (travel may be required)
Act as deployment & itinerary planning subject matter expert within the company and the industry. Attend committee meetings and planning meetings as needed to fulfill this role. Attend conferences and forums as needed to fulfill this role (travel may be required).
Manage deployment & itinerary planning data in mission critical systems such as MXP and Transas.
Manage the development, introduction and implementation of deployment & itinerary planning technology.
Create new business processes and roadmaps needed to achieve deployment & itinerary planning goals and increase efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Navigation and/or Nautical Engineering
Licensed navigational officer (All Ships)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a senior navigation officer, preferably on a Seabourn Cruise Line or Holland America Line vessel
Comprehensive nautical and technical knowledge of vessel operations, procedures and management structure.
A thorough understanding of cruise ship operations and management.
A thorough understanding of cruise destinations. The ability to evaluate a destination's qualification from multiple perspectives and disciplines (i.e. marketing, operations & tour)
Skilled in the usage of nautical (planning) software and hardware, such as Transas.
Comprehensive knowledge of the cruise industry in general and an understanding of events and trends that shape and drive the cruise industry
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability and confidence to speak to large audiences.
Excellent computer skills, advanced proficiency in Excel (formulaic)
Strong organizational and management skills with attention to detail
Knowledge and understanding of deployment and itinerary planning data management tools such as eFleet and MXP
Understanding of the Safety Management System, specifically in regards to Maritime, Safety, Regulatory and Environmental issues
Valid passport and ability to travel
