The Data & Information Governance Manager (Manager) is involved in establishing project budgets, scope and deliverables while managing one or more teams to execute on projects. The Manager understands each client's needs to develop project plans and resource plans, establishes reporting and metrics, and provides the client with regular updates. The Manager also coordinates all aspects of a project, and ensures risk is managed, mitigated or escalated as quickly as possible. In addition, this role works with BDO Channel Partners to develop statements of works, proposals and RFP responses to integrate products and services, develop and/or update client processes, and manage the implementation of process updates, as well as manage project teams to ensure client projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Governance, or other relevant field, required

  • Master's degree in Records or Information Management or Business Administration, Juris Doctorate or other relevant advanced degree, preferred

Experience:

  • Six (6) or more years of consulting experience, required

  • Three (3) or more years of experience managing large, complex projects, required

  • Three (3) or more years of experience using Microsoft Project or an equivalent software, required

  • Process design experience, including Lean Six Sigma, preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • PMP or equivalent experience, required

  • CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or other privacy certifications, preferred

  • CISSP, AHIMA, IGP, CRM or other similar certifications, preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma, preferred

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint and Visio

  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar project management software required

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Visio or similar software, preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint skills, preferred

  • Knowledge and/or experience with GRC platforms, information governance software, records management software, or similar technologies, preferred

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL, NoSQL, Oracle and/or other database solutions, preferred

Language(s):

  • Multilingual capabilities (read, speak and/or write), preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Executive presence, and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements

  • Capable of working with global corporate clients, and ability to up-sell after the first engagement

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills

Department Description The Data Governance Analyst is part of the Data Governance Office under Enterprise Information and Analytics (EIA) division of Information Technology. EIA serves a wide variety of constituents by delivering high value data and analytic solutions to help improve operations, financial performance, clinical quality and research. The teams that comprise the EIA group are specialized in their use of analytical tools and methodologies and work synchronously to use this expertise to solve complex organizational problems and serve the UCSF community. Job Summary As a preeminent health sciences campus and health system, the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is at the forefront of creating new knowledge from the exploding volume of clinical, discovery, and education data that it creates and manages. UCSF believes that the ability to leverage these data assets is an important differentiator for an academic healthcare center and is critical to our drive toward Precision Medicine and the execution of key UCSF strategies for the Clinical Enterprise. These strategies include supporting better population health by improving the quality of care and population health of the University of California health system's 14 million patients. As part of this exciting and important endeavor, UCSF is seeking a highly qualified Data Governance Analyst to support Data Governance Adoption. The Data Governance Analyst will play a key role in UCSF's critically important efforts to transform data into meaningful and actionable insight for clinicians, researchers, educators and administrators. The Data Governance Analyst will report to the Lead of Data Governance Office and will assist the Lead in the implementation of near- and long-term business strategies for standing up and operating a UCSF-wide data governance program that fits within UCSF's mission and culture. The Data Governance Analyst will support in operationalizing the data governance mission, vision and charter that outlines the program's objectives, guiding principles, and roles and responsibilities. The Data Governance Analyst will support the data governance program by: * Supporting the daily operations of the Data Governance council including monitoring progress, tracking action items, measuring key accomplishments, and support or implement actions to resolve barriers or key issues * Supporting the data governance adoption and achievement of program objectives * Operationalizing the Data Governance policies and procedures * Monitoring and assisting business/technical data stewards in complying with Data Governance policies and procedures * Maintaining/updating/refreshing data governance procedures and standards * Supporting the design, business analysis and user testing for Collibra implementation Involves the development and implementation of the organization's data and analytics governance. Works closely with across the enterprise data champions to implement and adopt data policies and processes. Coordinates Collibra data governance solution implementation by documenting requirements and validating use cases. As a part of data governance office, works closely with IT and business partners to build and monitor data governance standards.
