The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, Data Architecture to lead our data architecture team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing the organization's data architecture for our product and client applications. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of data models, database systems, and data integration processes to ensure the availability, accuracy, and integrity of our data. The Data Architecture Manager will also collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and provide solutions that align with our overall data strategy. This role would be a working leader role meaning the candidate would need to also fulfill the role of being a data architect. This is a technical role and requires the individual to understand data and software architecture, design, and testing principles, and be able to apply them to ensure the delivery of software products of the highest quality and standards.

Supervisor Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and leadership to staff; guide, coach, mentor and develop staff ensuring compliance with processes and procedures.

  • Handle interviewing, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, compensation, counseling and termination of staff.

  • Develop and maintain staff by applying the necessary training and leadership that will allow internal growth and advancement.

  • Direct staff, to ensure that all duties are performed according to department performance standards.

Day in the Life

  • Data Modeling and Design:

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient database architectures.

  • Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) for new and existing systems.

  • Ensure data models support analytical and operational needs.

  • Data Integration:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.

  • Ensure seamless integration of data from various sources into the data warehouse and other systems.

  • Implement data quality processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and provide appropriate solutions.

  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure data architecture aligns with application architecture.

  • Act as a liaison between technical and business stakeholders.

  • Technology and Innovation:

  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data architecture and data management.

  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve data architecture practices.

  • Lead initiatives to modernize data architecture and improve data management processes.

  • Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure data architecture complies with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and privacy.

  • Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for data architecture aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Define long-term plans, roadmaps, and initiatives to drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and meet business needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Management Information Systems Business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Additional certifications in ITIL, Six Sigma, TOGAF and Agile strongly preferred.

  • Seven (7) years experience in a solution architecture or developer subject matter expert role.

  • Three (3) years of Resource Management required.

  • Five (5) years in a senior or subject matter expect position.

For California, Colorado and New York Applicants: In accordance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this position is between:

$117,000.00 - $152,100.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
