The opportunity:

EY LLP, is currently seeking high-potential managers to deliver exceptional client service and to fuel the continued growth of our exciting TFO and Global Operations practice. We use a standard global TFO methodology to provide clients with an integrated, end-to-end service that unlocks the full potential of the tax function across the entire life cycle.

We are seeking high-performing managers and leaders. Mentored by nationally recognized professionals (including the firm's most senior executives), you'll be developed into a trusted business advisor - and play a critical role in building a better working world.

Key responsibilities:

Your role as a manager will focus on establishing relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels while working to consistently deliver exceptional client service. Additionally, you may be tasked with the management of the various processes within the TFO engagement, including:

  • Teaming across service lines and technical specialties

  • Developing and executing integrated (cross-services) transition workplans

  • Mobilizing global delivery capability and standardized process implementation

  • Implementing and transforming the tax operating model, governance structure and reporting protocols

  • Monitoring progress, managing risk, maximizing operational efficiencies and making sure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of five years of related work experience

  • Strong team, project, and people management skills with an ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills as well as a strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and an entrepreneurial approach to work

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel

  • Ability to lead virtual and on-site teams, mentor counselees and manage client-serving business

  • Strong proficiency and a high level of comfort working with new and emerging technologies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements

Ideally, you'll also:

  • Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products

  • Take ownership of tasks and have the proper judgment to make critical decisions

  • Have a strong ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines

  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery, keep team members informed of work status, actively seek assignments when unassigned, challenge traditional procedures used in the past, and attempt to find new approaches and opportunities for process improvement

  • Coach/mentor junior team members to help EY continue to build an inclusive culture and high-performing teams

Responsibilities * Serve as a leader for international tax planning, research and tax controversy management, directly and via supervision and development of team members at various stages of their careers, including the identification and effective resolution of talent and retention issues, succession planning, etc. * Foster curiosity, inspire and empower team members; serve on Global Tax Leadership Team in a collaborative environment. * Provide oversight, advice, and input into various organizational matters. * Provide technical expertise, leadership and overall direction on the development and implementation of international tax strategies for effective execution of key strategic business initiatives, global cash management, corporate restructurings, and reorganizations, including the tax reporting associated with international operations via collaboration and partnership with key business partners, other functions within Global Tax, tax advisers and external auditors and a strong knowledge of the McDonald's business and franchising structure. * Be the key interface between Tax and market finance, segment-level and various global department personnel regarding management of tax issues and development of local tax resources to help drive consistency in planning, reporting and protection of brand McDonald's on tax matters. * Assist Senior Director with FIN 48 preparation or review of memos/related documentation, related to global planning transactions, international audit developments, and legislative or interpretation updates of tax laws worldwide. * Maintain knowledge of various aspects of the tax outside of area of focus (e.g., transfer pricing, tax accounting and tax compliance items). * Monitor international and United States legislation to strategically assess implications to the business and existing corporate structures/activities, as well as to develop viable alternatives where changes in tax laws have an unintended consequence. * Direct income and/or non-income tax audits in various jurisdictions outside the U.S., act as a lead work with local country Tax, Finance and Legal professionals and government auditors and provide strategic direction for overall effective resolution of tax controversy matters, including the development of McDonald's global defense strategy and framework using technology and other resources to create readily available documents and audit defense files. * Prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with ability to identify which projects should have priority, focusing on those that are value-add and/or important to business partners.
