Position Summary The Manager of Credentialing is responsible for the daily operation of all credentialing activities. Performs a wide range of technical and administrative duties in relation to medical staff credentialing. These activities are guided by the interest and directive of the hospital medical staff and administrative authority. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Education: Associates degree in health care or business. Bachelor#s degree preferred. Job Summary Work with an internal team that supports our team of auditors across the country, with hospitals nationwide and/or with our client representatives to keep business processes moving, audits on track through to completion. This role is mission critical in turning audits into client cost savings and company revenue. Our company is built on relationships and the successful candidate will have strong people skills to forge strong relationships with hospital employees and our auditors. General Duties and Responsibilities * Communication with hospitals through various media phone, email, fax, traditional mail. Follow-up activities based on claim value, facility history, likelihood of signoff/collection * Identify when an issue needs to be escalated to next level. * Send facility spreadsheets of outstanding claims that require their attention. * Leverage tools to prioritize activities to drive results including use of ServerClaims, Snapshot, SQL database queries and other tools to prioritize calling, research and resolve status of outstanding claims (e.g. facility said they already handled, etc.) * Communicate with auditors via phone, email to ensure they review outstanding appeals in a timely manner * Use tools and organizational skills to stay current with ever-changing mix of claims * Communication with customers regarding status of certain audits, processes etc. Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of medical insurance claims practices. * Strong interpersonal skills - Ability to create productive, sustained relationships both hospital personnel and our auditors who are located remotely * Excellent phone skills key contacts are spread across the country, so the successful candidate will be skilled and comfortable using the phone as a primary mode of communication * Robust organization capability our business has lots of moving pieces. The successful candidate will stay on top of an ever-changing flow of audits. * Analytical ability capability to independently research and resolve audits with incomplete or conflicting information. Must be committed to working safely at all times. * Experience/proficiency in MS Office. * Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills * Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary. * Ability to work overtime as necessary. * Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally. * Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and clients. This position may be subject to additional periodic random or scheduled background checks or drug screens in order to maintain any required client certifications such as HI-TRUST. The supervisor of this position will be able to further advise about those requirements. Experience/Education: * Bachelors degree or equivalent education level is preferred. * Minimum of 1 years of experience in healthcare and or health insurance, is required. More years 3+ experience preferred. Travel: * Negligible travel required.
