Under the supervision of the VP & Controller, the Manager, Cost Accounting and SpecialProjects is responsible for all day-to-day activities of the costaccounting function for the entire global organization of BioHorizons Holdings,Inc. This position acts a liaisonbetween Finance and the Company's manufacturing operations. In addition, the Manager, Cost Accounting and Special Projects will also haveresponsibility for development, management, and implementation of specialprojects within the Finance Department.

The responsibilities ofthis position include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Oversee all cost accounting functions including standard cost development for new products, updates to existing standard costing on an annual basis (or more frequent basis if deemed necessary), monthly cost variance analysis, inventory account reconciliations, inventory obsolescence reserves, new item setup / review, and calculation of labor and overhead rates

  • Prepare various cost accounting reports for presentation to management

  • Develop, maintain, and report on KPIs to measure manufacturing performance

  • Manage / monitor the Company's inventory count process (including consignment inventory).

  • Continuous optimization of cost accounting processes

  • Responsible for the budgeting and planning of the Company's manufacturing business as well as its sales and operations

  • Assist with external audit(s) including record retrieval and process demonstration for auditors

  • Participate as needed in the Company's quarterly SOX compliance review and assessment

  • Manage cost accounting team of employees

  • Other special projects and finance responsibilities as assigned

The ideal candidate forthis position will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required; Master' degree preferred

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience,with at least 5+ years of cost accounting experience is required

  • Prior manager experience required

  • Internal and/or external audit procedures and

Sarbanes Oxley compliance preferred

  • Experience using MicroSoft DynamicsGP, including standard costing and MRP (material resource planning) preferred

  • The ability to work well withoperational managers and build trusting relationships with colleagues is required

  • Advanced Excel required includingexperience with Adhoc Reporting

  • Time management and organizationalskills essential

Acts as a liaison between centers, suppliers, and the SmartSystem (Surgical Care Affiliate's catalog and purchasing system) and will support Purchasing, Cost and Inventory Managers in implementing regional and local cost reduction opportunities. Position will provide exceptional support to facilities for all Supply Chain activities including, but not limited to, contract negotiation, benchmarking, standardization, market analysis, and industry best practices. Primary Responsibilities: * Facilitate and drive cost reduction opportunities for SCA centers / hospitals by utilizing standardization, value analysis, utilization, and pricing cost reduction strategies * Educate facilities on supply chain best practices, proprietary ordering system, fundamentals of the purchase to pay process, including accruals, in order to maximize opportunities and streamline operations * Deliver savings while maintaining and improving the quality of care provided to patients * Monitor and ensure facility performance meets expectations regarding key metrics; daily supply report, buy right percentage, cost per case and supplies as a percentage of net patient revenue * Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with facility staff, including the medical team. Participate in Partnership meetings, Regional meetings, etc. to present opportunities, savings realized, and overall supply chain metrics * Recommend solutions based upon data analysis to increase business efficiency and/or improve business processes * Identify new opportunities, assist in negotiating and implementing local and regional purchasing agreements, (bids, requests for proposals, etc.); Validates savings opportunity to SCA facilities * Participates in the selection, evaluation, monitoring, analysis and implementation of cost effective product, services and processes * Possess knowledge of inventory processes; train and educate the best in class techniques regarding par levels, inventory forecasting, etc. * Support implementation of national contracts and product conversions within SCA facilities * Maintain / update SmartSystem home page on a weekly basis.
