POSITION SUMMARY

Advanced Energy is currently seeking a talented Cost Accounting Manager. The Cost Accounting Manager position is responsible for supporting the company's financial record-keeping and reporting requirements and to ensure compliance with US and other GAAP, corporate policies and procedures, and common ethical practices.

This is an exciting hands-on position that requires the individual to be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with effective communication and strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills; demonstrated successful organizational and time management skills; problem solving abilities; and international business acumen. RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare, monitor and review journal entries, account reconciliations related to cost and inventory management.
Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities as needed.
Manage inventory variances and review analysis for absorption.
Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory values.
Review and monitor inventory movements for necessary reserves
Review plant cost factors of labor, material utilization, overhead and freight. Prepare and record related journal entries
Ensure compliance with internal controls for cost accounting processes and documentation (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley 404).
Communicate with local and foreign subsidiaries to resolve cost accounting issues.
Review end-of-month reports for management with inventory KPIs.
Develop and implement improvements to the processes noted above.
Support internal and external auditors request during annual audits and periodic reviews. Work with site personnel to implement corrective action when/where needed.
Provide leadership and support to the cost accounting team
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or requested.

SKILLS

Minimum 6 years previous cost-accounting experience with minimum 3 years management experience.
Previous experience leading a team with positive outcomes
Global experience preferred. Public company experience preferred
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Results oriented communication and team interaction and leadership.
Advanced Excel skills required including pivot tables and vlookups.
Proficient in other Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook
Proficient in the use of accounting software.
SAP and Blackline experience a plus.
Ability to accomplish difficult tasks with minimal oversight and maintain a consistent level of accuracy in all assigned areas.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to present solutions to difficult accounting problems.
Excellent communication, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
CPA a plus

EDUCATION

Essential:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is located our Denver, CO office.
Travel requirements are less than 10%
