Job Description:

The Corporate Safety Manager reports to the Head of Safety. This employee will oversee the implementation of a comprehensive safety program whereby the goal is to achieve continuous improvement for the reduction of work-related injuries/illnesses and related cost reduction strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage Lincare Safety programs to achieve and maintain compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local codes, and regulations

  • Identify and prioritize safety initiatives in support of business needs

  • Manage the timely and consistent implementation of safety policies and programs throughout Lincare

  • Represent the company with local, state, and federal agencies as required

  • Conduct Safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments when appropriate in conjunction with applicable Safety programs and/or regulations

  • Travel 50%-75%

  • Functions as internal content expert/adviser supporting various facilities

  • Attend safety conferences and seminars to improve safety knowledge and skills

  • Completes timely investigations of employee incidents and injuries, including vehicle accidents

Job Requirements

  • Interpersonal skills to engage at all levels to build rapport throughout the organization

  • Strong influencing skills with the courage to confidently express an independent point of view

  • Experience in educating managers in the Health & Safety area (OSHA, EPA, FDA, DOT, etc.)

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • excellent organizational skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, or related science field

  • Minimum of 3 years years of Health & Safety experience

This role is critical to driving safety excellence, effectively implementing and assisting with developing the Corporate safety management system. The Head of Safety champions operational excellence by showing employees and organizational leaders how their actions connect to the company safety vision and create long term value. This employee will participate in strategic planning, track metrics, provide leadership guidance and training, and drive continuous improvement of the company's safety management system.
