Overview

The Corporate Events Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and executing on all company sponsored events within budget as stipulated by management.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate all events in which AM Best participates

  • Handle contract negotiation with venues, vendors and various third parties

  • Manage all project elements within time limits and budget

  • Conduct market research and gather information in an effort to improve/increase brand awareness and impact

  • Provide clear, well-written periodic reports to stakeholders on impact of events

  • Articulate and propose ideas to improve services and event quality

  • Ensure that there is a commitment to compliance with all insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations

  • Provide a proactive approach to handling issues and troubleshooting any emerging problems on the event day

  • Collect and synthesize feedback in an effort to improve events going forward

  • Negotiate sponsorships and event participation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Events Management, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Project Management or related field.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Cvent Platform and Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint.

  • Experience in creating and executing annual budgets.

Skills

  • Research skills to identify event opportunities, understand the market and generate interest. Ability to see the "big picture" and meet objectives in all stages of event planning, design and production. People skills needed to staff events and coordinate their activities. Follow-through and willingness to conduct pre-event and post-event evaluations and reporting on the outcomes.
