HYG Is seeking an Manager, Contracts and Proposals. This position is responsible for timely, accurate, and compelling bid proposals, the incumbent will be charged with using all available resources to ensure HYG value propositions are clearly articulated on all proposal documents. In addition, the incumbent will manage all major account contract reviews, ensuring an efficient internal process for navigating and securing all required approvals through HYG commercial leadership. Upon securing customer business and approved supplier status, the incumbent will lead deal team efforts to expand HYG unit sales across related customer locations and businesses through targeted marketing, inside sales, and other directed sales activities.

The successful Manager, Contracts and Proposals will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage proposal response process and contract review process.

  • Lead deal team efforts to expand HYG business as approved supplier for decentralized accounts.

  • Proactive development and execution of strategy to gain approved contracts, either framework overview or direct sales, with A/B Accounts

  • Team development and succession planning Development of key sales skills - effective communication of HYG key selling propositions, expertise in HY-Impact Selling System, and credible qualification of new sales opportunities.

  • Sales bench strength built from within.

The successful Manager, Contracts and Proposals will have the following

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Business related field from an accredited college or university or twelve (12) years equivalent work related experience

  • 5-7 years' related work experience

  • Strong Business, Critical Thinking and Organizational Skills.

  • The skill to independently define, plan and manage projects, programs and teams.

  • Demonstration of effective leadership skills to engage and motivate individuals in multiple departments (internal and external) and at multiple levels in the company and build collaborative teams that support business solutions.

  • Experience and proficiency with order management systems, CRMS, quoting and other business management tools, preferred.

  • Outstanding communication skills (written and oral); advanced/expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risk, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interest of the organization.

This position identifies funding opportunities, liaises with federal (and other) sponsors, and assists faculty with proposal development. The Pre-Award Research Manager performs the following specific job-related duties: - Identify and disseminate funding opportunities that match the research interests, projects and faculty expertise using a variety of online databases and tools; - Work collaboratively with Sponsored Programs Officers for grant proposal submission through eTRACS, NSF FastLane,, NIH eRAcommons, NOAA Grants Online and other electronic submission portals; - Ensure accuracy of pre-award data necessary for correct award setup and implementation; - Review, interpret and apply sponsor regulations and guidelines for electronic submissions; - Assist faculty and/or units with administrative and financial preparation of grant application packages and budgets; - Assist faculty with proposal submissions including assisting with individual user account setup, sponsor registration, download application package, entering information into eTRACS, and reviewing of sponsor guidelines; - Coordinate large interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary faculty research proposals both internal and/or external to the university; - Support the eRA System Administrator by providing help desk support for users of eTRACS and identify and resolve issues, track system malfunctions, provide support for proposals being submitted via the System-to-System feature, configure changes to the system as new operations are adopted, and maintain/update system roles and securities. - Teach classes (group sessions, one-on-one sessions) leveraging various platforms such as face-to-face or online and provide didactic training in eTRACS and research administration; - Serve as liaison with the Offices of Research Administration and Foundation Relations to ensure timely and efficient grant submission, management, and compliance, and with University central offices (e.g., REDE and college and departmental offices) to ensure sponsor and university compliance; - Work with leadership in REDE on the development and implementation of institution-wide rules and regulations (e.g., limited submission programs) necessary to maintain compliance and to ensure meaningful and consistent pre-award management of grants and contracts; - Develop and disseminates reports on pre-award activities; - Develop and oversee policies and procedures related to pre-award grants management and identify and resolve operational issues as they arise; - Serve on institutional committees and participate in institution-wide special projects; - Other duties as assigned.
