Job Description:

TEGNA is seeking a dynamic and collaborative content creator to join our Corporate Communications team. We're looking for a multi-faceted reporter and storyteller who can help ensure TEGNA communicates its purpose, values, strategy and culture to employees with creativity, authenticity and consistency. He/she is a key evangelist for our culture and ready to supercharge internal storytelling efforts in exciting new ways at TEGNA. The candidate seeks out and creates compelling stories and develops events and campaigns to inform and engage TEGNA's employees. The successful candidate is broadcast- and digitally-savvy, with a solid understanding of how to harness video, digital, mobile and social channels as part of employee communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement innovative communications programs that convey change, recognize and inspire employees, communicate priorities and drive engagement

  • Identify and harness next-generation tools to engage employees every day

  • Build relationships and collaborate across the company to discover, curate and share compelling content and stories about TEGNA's people, purpose and performance; drive internal news content creation for all channels

  • Develop authentic, clear, concise and visually-compelling communications that reflect our visual medium

  • Use creative production skills to write, produce, shoot and edit stories; use techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance content

  • Create high-impact presentations and other visual assets working with our creative team

  • Help develop field communications, including communications toolkits for senior leaders

  • Execute all-employee events and communications in new, innovative ways; includes development of presentation materials, including managing production and vendor relationships and logistical responsibilities

  • Develop key performance metrics to measure outcomes

  • Ensure all messaging is consistent with TEGNA's branding

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • A BA/BS degree from an accredited college in English, journalism, public relations or closely related fields; graduate degree a plus

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably as a journalist or in an internal/employee communications role assisting in both strategic and tactical communications

  • Excellent and adaptable storyteller with excellent writing skills

  • Experience in photojournalism and editing

  • Ability to work with colleagues across the organization to build open, trusting relationships quickly

  • Equally comfortable telling the story in "words" and "visually"

  • Creative thinker with a desire and ability to seek opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and strong desire to work entrepreneurially

  • Ability and willingness to perform both strategic and tactical elements of the role

  • Exceptional organizational skills, including a proven record of managing multiple priorities and projects

  • Graphic design experience and experience developing digital, mobile and social media assets

  • Demonstrated ability to remain positive in fast-paced, high-stress environments

  • Uncompromising commitment to quality and detail

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism

  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries

  • High level of proficiency with Photoshop, Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Keynote

Senior Associate, Content Producer Our Content Marketing Team is looking for an experienced Producer with a passion for creating engaging digital experiences. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who can help develop custom content optimized for distribution across multiple channels including our website's content hub, social media, display, online video and emerging channels. In this role you will help re-imagine and transform our digital marketing practices to enable great storytelling through relevant content, elevate the role of analytics in the creative development process and deliver flawless execution across multiple formats and points of distribution. Your purpose is to reinvent how creative development is achieved in a data and technology driven future state! Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Identify the best possible production partner (internal and external partners) to deliver creative at the highest level of quality within timeline and budget. Coordinate delivery of assets between creative and production teams to ensure the correct brand-compliant imagery and graphics are in use. Act as "scrum master" for the Learn & Grow content hub, working with the Strategist, Product Manager and creative team to prioritize work, groom the publishing calendar and help identify when additional resources are needed to keep the team on schedule. Manage the creative production process from start to finish with an eye towards improving our craft and applying learning and insights to improve the finished product. Ensure all content is proofread, legal-approved, optimized for search engines, and aligns with brand identity. Coordinate delivery of final produced work and confirm it's created to specifications, archived as appropriate and that final files and component assets are uploaded to our DAM with the proper metadata. Track usage rights and ensure proper licensing of stock and music. Review production SOWs/contracts to ensure maximum flexibility in asset usage and route contracts for review through the proper channels. The ideal candidate has excellent negotiation skills and ability to see through the fine print. Production Operations: Establish best practices for creating high quality content across every channel and maximizing productions to output for different formats and points of distribution. Work closely with our dynamic content distribution team to define specifications for upload of assets for dynamic creative. Inspire the team with best-in-class examples and new formats/emerging channels. Contribute to our list of go-to production partners and freelancers who understand the brand and our production model. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience * At least 4 years' experience in integrated video content production * At least 4 years' experience working with interdisciplinary teams including art directors, copywriters, strategists, analysts and product marketers * At least 2 years' experience in video content production for digital or social distribution Preferred Qualifications: * At least 3 years' experience in financial services marketing or another highly regulated industry * Deep understanding of the process, equipment, software and skill sets needed to create video (animation/live action), photography, illustration and written content as well as some knowledge of website development and Content Management Systems. * Deep understanding of digital and social best practices for effective content * Understanding and experience with dynamic creative production processes and technologies (platforms like Jivox, RevJet, Evergage, flashtalking, etc.) * Experience with technical production oversight including website development, HTML5 display and email.
