Hub Group, Consolidation & Fulfillment is looking for a Manager, Consolidation and Fulfillment with primary responsibility for the Cross dock as well as the overall performance of the warehouse, including operations, transportation, safety, customer service, and office operations. The Manager plans, organizes staffs, directs, and controls all office and warehouse activities. The selection, training, and motivation of the workforce are key responsibilities. The Manager, Consolidation and Fulfillment assists the GM in establishing warehouse performance objectives. The Manager, Consolidation and Fulfillment is accountable for achieving company objectives in regard to cost, quality, productivity, customer service, and profit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the development and execution of warehouse systems and procedures for operation and managing physical facilities, human resources, equipment, and products in a profitable manner.

  • Plan, direct, and implement warehouse and administrative support to meet productivity, quality, and service goals.

  • Operate in compliance with federal, state, and local statutes, OSHA requirements and Federal Labor law and requirements.

  • Develop and maintain a productive work team by administering programs for hiring, training, and professional development of warehouse associates, supervisors and customer service reps.

  • Match the skill and background of personnel to the work required.

  • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, administer programs to supervise, counsel, and discipline employees.

  • Administer company labor management programs to be able to evaluate employees' performance and drive process continuous improvement.

  • Ensure the warehouse information systems are properly deployed to meet company objectives and facilitate the efficient operations of the warehouse.

  • Remain knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology in order to properly train warehouse staff.

  • Must be able to operate company computer systems and utilize various software programs, which will be used to evaluate operational performance and communicate to our customers.

  • Help establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPI's) and customer service standards for all accounts and communicate these standards to all personnel.

  • Assure that customer accounts receive the required level of operations and administrative support.

  • Prepare and lead Quarterly Business Reviews with customer representatives.

  • Support the development and recommendation of an annual operating budget, which will be reviewed and approved with company owners and controller.

  • Must maintain the proper controls to control all expenses and include full time and temporary labor and overtime whether warehouse related or clerical.

  • Administer a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met.

  • Assure that all accounts achieve profit, quality, and customer satisfaction standards.

  • Recommend Procurement of equipment and supplies required to assure efficient operation and meet company goals.

  • Administer programs for maintaining company standards of maintenance (programs implemented to keep equipment and building in excellent condition), security, housekeeping, and safety of equipment and facilities in a manner that assures their most efficient operation.

  • Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job.

  • Uses independent judgement to create and implement policy and procedure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five years' experience in warehousing and logistics management, as well as general supervisory experience, is required.

  • Skills in planning, staffing, budgeting, organizing, controlling, and communicating are required.

  • The ability to develop effective relationships, provides leadership, and integrates diverse organizations and individuals toward profitability objectives are critical.

  • Ability to follow procedures and work instructions.

  • Must have the ability to manage all level of personnel.

  • Need to be able to listen and effectively understand our employee's needs and be able to help them effectively understand the company goals, as well as our customers.

  • Must have strength in Management, Labor Control, and all Operations.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.

  • The ability to operate office machinery is required, as well as to effectively operate on the computer systems and all required customer systems as well necessary personal computer programs.

  • If required, must pass the forklift written test and "hand on" forklift driving test.
