Job Summary:

Under the guidance and supervision of Director of Community Development, Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement, the Manager of Community Development is responsible for the growth and success of the Community Development program for Children's of Mississippi through planning and implementing strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors to support the mission of Children's.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field and five years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skill to interact with a wide range of constituencies. Ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies. Ability to travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff with community development responsibilities. Establishes performance objectives for direct reports.

  • Manages a comprehensive fundraising event and community development program which benefits the children's hospital; develops and implements strategies that create and enhance local corporate giving programs and other partnerships to support Children's.

  • Manages a comprehensive fundraising event and community development program which benefits the children's hospital; develops and implements strategies that create and enhance local corporate giving programs and other partnerships to support Children's.

  • Develops and maintains "miracle family" program framework as a year-round platform for grateful families to represent Children's.

  • Prepares and administers the annual budget for assigned area. Works with manager- operations to submit monthly reports to director. Submits quarterly and annual financial reports to CMN, hospitals, based on contractual obligations.

  • Oversees the administration of in-kind donation guidelines and policies

  • Maintains current and comprehensive donor records, both electronic and hard copy. Assists in maintenance of supporting database of prospective donor names and related useful information.

  • Complies with established medical center and development office customer service standards. In coordination with the director, manages the administration of community development and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals standards and policies on the local level.

Environmental and Physical Demands:

(occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
