  • agent in Phase 2 development in facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and is conducting a Phase 2 pulmonary program with sotatercept in pulmonary arterial hypertension.

This critical Finance position reports to the Sr. Director of FP&A and will oversee the commercial activities and revenue projections. This cross-functional role will require the ability to cultivate an effective business partnership between the Commercial functional areas, Finance and the Executive Committee.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the financial planning and forecasting function in support of the Commercial organization by developing an annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including key programs, headcount spending and revenue projections

  • Work closely with the Commercial team to understand commercial strategy and key financial metrics and collaborate with accounting to identify potential financial impacts to ensure financial data is properly recorded

  • Perform monthly close activities for commercial and research functions, including:

  • Preparation of accrual and revenue journal entries

  • Develop and maintain detailed models/schedules for commercial activities by partnering with Commercial functional leads as well as reviewing contracts and general ledger activity

  • Reconciliation of various balance sheet and P&L accounts

  • Perform general accounting duties such as investments, related footnotes, reporting, non-payroll taxes and other tasks as assigned

  • Maintain and improve financial models/reports that track and analyze functional costs and their impact on the company's overall performance

  • Identify risks and opportunities that drive financial results and effectively communicate to Finance and Commercial leadership

  • Partner with the Legal team to ensure compliance with the Veeva/Sunshine Act, the grant system, and incentive comp/commission accrual

  • Analyze budget versus actual results, distribute and review with Commercial functional leads on a quarterly basis

  • Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, financial statements, and other management reports as it relates to commercial finance items

  • Assist in the maintenance of an effective system of controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as it related to commercial finance items

  • Participate in process improvement activities including enhancing current financial processes, and leverage technology to increase effectiveness

  • Interact with vendors and internal stakeholders and provide excellent customer service

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting environment supporting a commercial organization

  • Life science (pharmaceutical, biotech or CRO) experience required

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP

  • Must possess strong finance skills, analytical ability, and solid business acumen

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and handle simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across organizations and utilize resources effectively

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
