Job Summary

Responsible for developing and maintaining all necessary external business relationships. This position leads development of new relationships and grows existing relationships to ensure profitability in line with company's business plans, objectives and strategies with a focus and understanding of commercial and industrial markets in the Midwest. Responsibilities also include mentoring of less experienced originators to further their business development. Working collaboratively with Trading, Structuring, Originators, Gas Scheduling and other assigned teams, the successful candidate will build a dynamic footprint and collaborate on daily, monthly, seasonal, annual and multi-year purchases, sales, transportation commitments, storage plays, customer development and peaking opportunities proactively. The ability to lead development through simultaneously coordinating numerous tasks is required to turn their region into a significant profit generator.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and manages business with a focus on key customer relationships.

  • Cultivates a key book of business serving as the lead deal maker with focus on Midwest C&I.

  • Develops strategic plans for specific region.

  • Serves as internal and external expert and sponsor in market areas of interest.

  • Understands legal, regulatory and structuring concepts impacting customer and market development.

  • Ensures all relevant internal controls are followed and develop new controls as needed.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and 7 years of professional experience in applicable industries, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the needs of the job

Other Qualifications

Preferred:

  • 7 years of experience in natural gas sales, marketing, trading or origination.

  • Recent management of portfolio of large commercial and industrial customers connected to strategic Midwest team pipelines such as Panhandle Eastern, ANR and Texas Gas

  • Thorough understanding of the physical natural gas grid.

  • Understanding of financial tools available to manage risks associated with deal structures and harvesting of embedded optionality.

  • Demonstrated success growing critical mass over multi-month and multiyear intervals.

  • Ability to persevere during the development and introduction of new products, geographies and services as part of a performance-based organization that values input and challenge from all team members impacted.

Other Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of Windows based software applications, including Word and Excel.
