Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing Category Leadership capabilities for an account or multiple small accounts within the TBA Category Leadership Services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input into development of account specific category leadership strategy in partnership with Shopper & Guest Solutions Initiative and Channel Insights teams.

  • Understand and communicate unique account dynamics to key stakeholders and recommended needed adjustments (tools, resources, approach, etc).

  • Strengthen existing retailer relationships through continuous engagement with category management teams at the account providing strategic thinking and expertise in category leadership.

  • Responsible for measuring, score carding and communication of account performance to leadership; ensuring outputs are clearly mapped to goals and purposes.

  • Participate in "top to tops" and joint business planning meetings.

  • Provide input to long-term strategy presentations.

  • Provide Category Leadership Services team with visibility to upcoming project and work with team to allocate resources appropriately to efficiently complete the work in a timely manner.

  • Ensure cross functional collaboration and alignment with other departments including BU sales teams, Innovation, Commercial Insights, National Sales, and Sales Strategy.

  • Participate in activities that are aligned with department strategies and prioritized initiatives and category management opportunities.

  • Ensure team organization, processes and tasks are structured and designed to deliver efficiently on clearly understood goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 3 years of sales, merchandising, or retail store management experience.

  • 2-5 years of category management, consumer or shopper insights, or research experience which included the management of the entire category

  • Ability to build strong relationships, initiate action and adjust to change are key attributes of this role

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Proficient in the use of all category management software, concepts, analytical techniques; have a thorough understanding of syndicated data.

  • Bachelor's degree is required, MBA or equivalent is preferred

  • Ability to travel by plane approximately 50%

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.

  • Must have close vision, distant vision, ability to adjust focus, peripheral and color vision.

  • Must be able to work in an office environment primarily but periodically required to work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and lighting

  • Should be able to lift 40 lbs. on occasion

Department: Procurement Vacancies: 1 Reports to: Director of Procurement JOB MISSION: As a key member of the Procurement organization, the Category Manager is responsible for delivering value by providing leadership in the development and implementation of the assigned category strategies for North America. The Category Manager will be responsible for facilitating the strategic sourcing of preferred suppliers, contract negotiations, contract drafting, improvement of work related processes, supporting stakeholders, management of supplier relationships and performance, and the identification and implementation of key metrics and tools related to the assigned categories PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop and execute the category management strategy for assigned categories * Through facilitation of cross-functional teams, execute the Ferrovial Services strategic sourcing methodology for the selection of preferred suppliers from as-is assessment through contract/program implementation and maintenance * Manage the planning and launch of RFIs and RFPs within the assigned categories * Generate bottom-line cost savings from strategic sourcing projects and supplier negotiations * Works with management and key stakeholders to establish annual strategies and goals, including forecasted spend, savings and performance goals * Manage supplier selection and develops data analysis / requirements for informed decisions * Conduct supplier reviews and manages supplier performance, including compliance to contractual terms and conditions, preferred supplier KPIs/SLAs and issue resolution * Engage in operational negotiations as needed * Negotiate, draft and redline various types of supplier agreements * Management of all master supply agreements for the categories * Draft and implement policies and procedures related to assigned categories * Identify and implement process improvements to deliver internal and supplier efficiencies * Develop and report savings calculations for strategic sourcing projects and other metrics as required * Implement, manage and communicate category Metrics * Develop reports and presentations * Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers * Actively monitor the market for intelligence and business trends and benchmark against best practices * Multitasks with a main focus on customer service and customer satisfaction * Participates in the identification and implementation of Procurement process improvement opportunities * Gives and receives work direction * Actively participate in the Performance and Development Review process, ensuring alignment to the performance pillars - Perform, Grow, Develop and Innovate. * Carry out all work activities upholding the Company values of Integrity, Ingenuity, Collaboration and Challenge.
