What part will you play?

We are looking for a dynamic and high energy addition to the NY Warner Bros TV Casting team! Must have a vast and intricate knowledge of the New York acting community, and a genuine curiosity to explore new faces. Should have positive relationships with Actors, Talent Agents and Managers, Casting Directors and Associates. Should be collaborative and confident in their taste and should possess an intrinsic ability to direct actors during auditions.

  • Direct actors in the audition room in order to create the best possible audition.

  • Ability to juggle ten or more pilots simultaneously and ability to organize and track dozens of different series regular roles simultaneously.

  • Interface with high level talent, talent agents, and managers.

  • Navigate Breakdown Services for submissions. Use taste, judgement, and vast knowledge of actors to make selections on submissions.

  • Attend theatre, comedy shows, showcases, and festivals after hours to scout for talent at least two times per week.

  • Identify independent casting directors in NY and maintain current lists of their availabilities.

  • Consult with LA Casting Executives, Producers, Directors, and NY VP on various pilots.

  • Maintain departmental talent database via File Maker Pro.

  • Upload and edit casting auditions via CastIt.

  • Create casting idea lists for series regular roles and check actor availabilities.

  • Support VP of Casting in all daily needs.

  • When needed, help in scheduling casting sessions, run camera and act as a reader in auditions.

  • When needed, help in scheduling meetings with actors, agents, managers, and visiting LA based executives.

What do we require from you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Theatre or Film preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in casting working in Television, Theatre or Film; and at least 3 years specifically as a Casting Associate. Additionally, any experience as a Casting Director is a plus. Experience in episodic and series regular TV casting also a plus.

  • Vast and intricate knowledge of the NY talent pool and acting community with a passion for casting required. Should be able to provide casting outreach to non-traditional sources.

  • Must possess the vocabulary and sensibility to direct actors in the audition room.

  • Must possess the analytical skills to read scripts in development and understand characters.

  • Must be a multi-tasking organizational whiz who can meet priority deadlines, problem solve and anticipate needs.

  • Possess a strong business acumen and professional demeanor at all time.

  • Computer dynamo: PC/Mac proficient, Microsoft Outlook, Word, File Maker Pro.

  • Willingness to work and respond to emails and calls after hours, when necessary. Willing to work weekends, sometimes at short notice.
